They only create stick weapons

Why is it that even when i give my civlisations plenty of metal, they only want to create sticks as weapons? How do i get them to create swords and bows and such?

They have to research the technology to make weapons and the technology to use the metals. Giving them lots of metal doesn't do anything but make it sit in their inventory until they complete the correct research. They don't actually need that much resources, just time.

Is there a way i can speed this up? ^^. Also is technology entirely random, or are certain technologies only available for certain races?

You can click on the 'Game Settings' button in the Main Menu, then go to 'Settings' and keep clicking on the Burger icon in the top left corner until a green bug or something like that appears in the top right of the entire WorldBox window. Then click on it and in 'General for general things' choose 'Sonic Speed'

All technologies are available to all races equally. I can say right away that if a kingdom is on a small island and has its own culture, they are more likely to build ports and such compared to people who have the same sea nearby but live on a large island

Yeah, clicking the burger 11 times gives you access to the debug menu, where you can access stuff like City Infinite Resources and stuff. They're very beneficial in kickstarting a kingdom.

yes, the more characters in a culture that have the genius trait, the faster they will advance. so sprinkle it down using the mass trait button. No need to debug or anything.

apparently theyre fixing this in the next update lol. ive seen rulers drop magic evil mage staffs for sticks
