You are simply wrong on saying Ori and the Blind forest was made without coding. That game was made with Unity. While it is possible to make "games" in Unity without coding (Unity uses C++). Games like Ori and the Blind Forest are way too complex to be able to be built in Unity without coding. Also most (By most here I actually mean 99.9999 percent) good games developed (games not mods) are developed by coding. I have never heard of a banging game developed like Ori and the Blind Forest without the use of a code. Also this is the first time that I have ever heard of someone claim that Ori and the Blind Forest was made without coding. That can not even be possible due to the size of the game and how little you can do with Unity without knowing how to code.

Your last point about kids making fan games. So one of your points is that you see a lot of kids make quick crappy fan games. Well I feel like I speak for majority of the player base when I say, that we would not want a quick (by quick I mean less than 1 month) and trash update. (I am also not saying I am fine with a developer taking 1+ years to get an update out.)
Maybe rumor I hear was wrong about Ori. Most of the work went into animation and art quality. Any way.

I was thinking about people make fans game for attend for quick gain popularity hype train. There people making video list of bad fans top list for fun. Mostly coming from popular games.
It does not make much sense to compare Ori and WorldBox. One is a single player platformer game with a clear goal. While the other is a sandbox where people create their own goals. Comparing Hearts of Iron IV to WorldBox for example would make more sense. (that is a better example but it is still not a good example due to the fact that HOI4 was made by a whole team with a publisher backing it).

I was think more of that idiot trying to make game designing look like nightmare to make. Trying point out it not that really hard as he saying it.

World Box on other hand. Rely a lot on AI acting on their. I learn few thing Code Bullet tell me that making smart AI are tricky to make.

Making simple dumb AI like groomba for Mario. Not really hard to make. All it does walk around all days.

Hm, what makes it ignorant? It's a legit argument. The argument, however, does not assert that the two things are identical, only that they are similar. The fact that I used food as an analogy doesn't take away from the take, I've compared those to demonstrate the absurdity of the situation, that if the same would've happened in any other industry it would've been unacceptable, and food is just universal theme that everyone can relate to.

Industries are different, however customer's expectations are not, we will always expect good value for the product that we've invested in, and we will always expect it on time.
When the value of the product is not good enough, or it's not on time, we're typically would say that the producer is not to be trusted.

And yes, we knew that we're buying early access game, and that is exactly why we're upset – because our trust is being betrayed and our interests are being ignored, and you're saying that we have to stop being rightfully upset and angry because... making games is hard? We just want to get our money's worth, and you should too, unless, of course, you don't care about the game.

If we're being reasonably angry when we're getting fooled and ignored in other industires, how this one should be different?

Uhhh what? Using food does. Food has a set time to cook at correct certain temps. Games have zero set time for when they're done.

So no, this analogy does not make any sense what so ever, software development is way harder than cooking.

And uh, how is your trust being betrayed... They are pretty transparent on not releasing updates for long periods of time, they've always done this... It's kinda the users fault for not looking into a early access games update frequency.

Like jeez, chill out. Big updates usually take around 1 - 2 years to cook up. And you're kinda lucky non of this is pay walled behind DLC, as most games release big updates under DLC now. I'd be a bit more thankful and appreciative for the work these fine developers do. And all the effort they put into the game. As unlike most developers who stop updating a game after about 3 years of development, they've been going for what? Almost a decade.

I'm personally done partaking in this discussion. As its talking to a stone wall, of users who let anger control their rationality. And I've said what I have wanted to say on the topic. And have nothing further to add. Cheers.

Bro has read first two sentences of my reply and gave up on reading cos apparently reading is too hard.
Alright bro, for the milllionth time FOOD IS JUST AN INSTRUMENT OF AN ANALOGY,
Now, just for you I'll extrapolate the same analogy using other industries, so you could (hopefully) get it.

Cinema:
"-Them junior filmmakers sold us tickets to the "Most interesting two hours biopic ever"
for 20$ and only released half an hour of the movie!
-Nah man you're STUPID and your anger issues are controlling your rationality, have you ever filmed anything? Do you even know how hard it is?
-Wait, what? How in the world my anger issues are controlling my rationality, films are hard to make, indeed, but they're filmmakers it's what they do and bro we've paid 20$ each to see the dam film and they're just ghosting us posting 20sec snippets of the scenes!
-NOOO, YOU CAN'T DEMAND FOR WHAT YOU'VE PAID FOR!!!!!"
-Riiight, and I'M the one with anger controlling my rationality ahah?

Clothing:

"- Bro the mathcing t-shirts we've ordered half a year ago are still not here, and we've paid 20$ each for them!
-Clearly you've never designed a T-shirt, it's hard to do and it takes time!
-Well, duh, that's why we asked them and PAID them lot to make it
-NOOO, YOU CAN'T DEMAND FOR WHAT YOU'VE PAID FOR!!!!!"
-Huh? Bro we've paid our money and they're ignoring us sending us the PICTURES of a t-shirts, whats wrong with you?
-Whats wrong with YOU?! Your anger takes over your rationality and you're being unreasonable!
-Oh, alright bro have a great day

Firstly, game development is an incredibly complex and multifaceted process. Unlike preparing a dish in a restaurant, which follows a relatively predictable recipe and timeline, creating a game involves numerous stages, each with its own set of challenges. From initial concept and design to coding, testing, and debugging, every step requires meticulous attention to detail. Unexpected issues can arise at any point, necessitating additional time and resources to resolve.

Moreover, the scope is constantly evolving, with new ideas and player expectations emerging regularly. The devs must adapt to these changes, often reworking significant portions of the game to ensure it meets updated standards. This can further extend development timelines, but it’s crucial for delivering a high-quality product that players will enjoy.

Regarding communication, it’s true that the developers should strive to keep their community informed about progress. However, the nature of game development means that not all updates are substantial or easy to convey. Sometimes, a seemingly simple update like “eggs?” or “cooking?” might represent a significant behind-the-scenes milestone that isn’t immediately apparent to players. Developers might choose to share these updates to maintain engagement, even if they don’t provide detailed insights into the development process.

It’s also worth noting that early access games come with an inherent risk. Players are essentially investing in a work-in-progress, with the understanding that the game is not yet complete. While developers should certainly aim to provide regular and meaningful updates, the early access model relies on a degree of patience and trust from the community.

In terms of customer service, it’s fair to expect transparency and accountability from developers. If delays occur, developers should communicate the reasons and offer apologies or compensation where appropriate. However, it’s also important for players to recognize the unique challenges of game development and approach the situation with a degree of understanding.

Ultimately, both developers and players share a common goal: the creation of an enjoyable and engaging game. By fostering a respectful and communicative relationship, both parties can work together to achieve this goal, even in the face of delays and setbacks.

Bro used Chat-GPT and thought no one would notice. Your text is 73% likely to be ai generated by three online checkers, sorry, but I won't be engagin in the argument untill you use your own brain to formulate the thoughts
And? Im trying to start more drama
Mister Teteng 15/jul./2024 às 16:33
Man I'm done. Both sides are just pointlessly arguing without any benefits. I just don't wanna wait for a *single* update for an early access game the same way i wait for a triple A release. That's insane to me considering the fact that it took mihoyo 1 month to make a region and everything in it on genshin back when it wasn't released yet and have 11 people working on the game. I know this because I have a friend who works as a team leader in mihoyo.

Now yes 11 people is more than 6 people, but do you expect me to believe that a team with 5 more person working on a game is able to produce HUGE content dozens of time faster? And keep in mind Worldbox is a pixel game, they don't have to spend that much resources on graphics and other stuff. We're talking about 1 month vs 1 year and the sad part is it could be more than 1 year, we're still waiting right now.

With that I'm done arguing with people again because it's insane to me that people don't think that waiting 1 or more year for a *single* update for an early access game is crazy. I honestly think either people are really patient or they've lost their minds

Why? Any drama is pointless, I'm just trying to open people's eyes on how devs treat them and that they should complain and not being a pushovers and you delegitimize this whole discussion

Legit no one has said they want the update now and unfinished stop telling lies all we have asked for is MORE COMMUNICATION FROM THE DEV you idiots like power man go noooooooo you can't complain noooooo you aren't allowed to ask about the update

I think that your understanding of coding is just making some pixels, the end.

yes or no question here is "World Box" still being updated/worked on?
401bay 15/jul./2024 às 19:24
If you guys rush the update, it will be half finished and you'll complain about that, too. I would like more communication from the devs, though. Yes, it is a decent-sized team and pixel art, but it's still coding, coding takes time. If you're not going to wait, go learn to code and make a mod that adds everything you want.

Nah man, we have PAID for this update and onus to give us the update is on them, why should I learn coding if I've already paid them to develop the game for me?
Besides it seems like they've started working on it about 3 months ago, we're not rushing them, we're asking to not treat people who're paying them money like we don't exist.
Just make little audio dev dev diaries every two weeks and big ones every month, like make them audio dieries, just let us know what you're workin on

what kind of Early Access game releases updates as DLC's?
and what game in tarnation takes 1 - 2 years for a big update?? tf?
Lots. Good examples are CS:GO, Tf2, Cyber punk, and many many many many many other games.

Ah once again another stupid analogy. Im just going to break what I said about not responding as this just dumbfounded me.

Movie : What? You're comparing a update not being released... To a half released movie, yep. Makes total sense. And you're just calling the game half baked garbage, sense how dare they not release a half baked update!!! Anyways, stupid analogy.
Oh yeah, not to mention the game warns you this is early access, while in your analogy it's the movie theater scamming you. If you feel sooo scammed, request a refund, and quit complaining.

Clothing : You're assuming the update is just done, and they're somehow "withholding" your "right" to have it. You've bought the game knowing this is early access, and updates are not guaranteed.
Unlike your clothing analogy where you've been once again scammed out of a good / service you have bought.

Once again, a stupid analogy, just making yourself look even worse. That is to reasonable users that is. Which doesn't seem to exist here.

I'm quite enjoying debunking these analogies you're posting, But I can't help but just take pity on you. So I'm actually for real, leaving you to talk to a brick wall, that is me. And I implore you to stop making dumb analogies that don't make sense. It's really not a good look to anyone who has some sense of critical thinking.

Edit : And just so I don't break. I'm unsubbing from this discussion. As to not get any notifications, so I don't have the need to respond.

Bro debunking analogies instead of disproving my point. Bro can't see my point in three analogies and keep trying to "debunk" them, you just don't see what I'm trying to say and not adressing any of my points, but instead you choose to just call the instrument with which I deliver my points stupid. Bravo ahahah

Tell me why should I treat this industry any different from others? Why should they be special?
