Immortal Kings Giving Up On Kingdoms
I have this map that's been running for almost 8,000 years. It's down to humans and dwarves. They are each ruled by immortal kings who've been in power for millennia.

Then one day the human king "gave up" on his kingdom! Everyone started to kill him and they replaced him with a new king!

Then the same thing happened to the dwarf king a couple thousand years later!

What gives? Why are they "giving up" on their kingdoms?

Weird. I have similar setup.
Was a nice thing to watch.

Human tribes killed each other until all of them were left as one tribe so I made the king of that one immortal.
Elf tribes killed each other until they unite under another immortal king.
Similar to dwarves and orcs.

Later, I built a bridge at the very bottom from the human to the elf realm and locked the sea gate and other ways through the mountain so the other races may not intervene.

Humans annihilated the elves completely.
Then I did the same for the dwarves and orcs, even though funnily they hated each other that much, so the dwarves crossed the sea to start a war with the orcs.
Even though they went into peace, I then built a land bridge so their chance to clash again is higher.

Now only dwarves and humans remain (all humans are blue).

When I opened up the pathways between their realms, they clashed and declared war.
However, they found peace and it seemed that both realms got along between each other for hundreds of years.
So I decided to kill the immortal dwarf king and the dwarves went back to tribalism.

Funnily the strongest dwarf tribe before was a cyan one where I made the king immortal. But somehow that kingdom turned crimson and the immortal king got replaced by another, but not killed (he was either part of the crimson kingdom).
Possibly I gave him too peaceful traits?
However, the crimson kingdom was the one declared war on the humans and found peace a few thousand kills later.

Which is a bit boring, so I opened their tribe sense again and the game of thrones starts over.

Yet I find it astonishing, that the immortal king of the humans kept his kingdom together for over 900 years. :O

PS...
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥' love this game. It's just so random. :D

Shoutout to Josh for gaming it out. ^^

What's wild is I didn't set them up with the immortal kings in my game. For me, they all became immortal at random via lightning strike.

XD

Are you sure they were still "alive"?
I've uploaded an "All Traits - Hopefully" map where I gave 15 different NPCs traits and in sum all 73 traits are available to be scanned.

However, the human in the lowest right closed section of the map has the "Suicide"-Trait and therefore likes to bomb him- / herself into hell.
Yet the first bomb basically just transform the human into a skeleton which automatically removes the "Cursed"-Trait I gave to him / her, but adds the "Immortal"-Trait.
It either explains the "Immortal"-Trait as skeletons are already dead... undead... won't die except if they get killed. XDDDDD

Maybe your kings got turned into skeletons? Which would explain why they got attacked by their own people. ^^

I'm 100% sure they were alive and did not turn into skeletons. There was a notification they'd "given up" on their kingdom, then I watched as their armies murdered them.

The reason your king 'Abandoned' the kingdom is because he ate a food that caused him to go mad. Candy and Evil Beets have a small % to make whoever eats them go insane.

Its mostlikely the maddening event, if a king goes mad, it says they abandonde their kingdom.

And if a person goes mad they get killed by all around them, so would explain it.
Just Chill Jul 30, 2022 @ 4:40pm
Ah, that's possibly it.
I gave all my kings the "Strong Will"-Trait so they cannot go mad. :)
