Why Modern update won't work.

Here is a list of reasons you should stop asking for it from the devs and just get it as a mod when workshop comes out.

- Medieval fantasy: Dragons, fairies, elves, wizards, orcs, etc. WHAT PART OF THIS SCREAMS TANKS AND MINIGUNS TO YOU?!?!?! Worldbox is meant to be in a medieval fantasy setting. Some of you talk about "progress" but imagine if in games like Total War, ck3, Dawn of Man, Etc. you could unlock guns? It would simply not work and it is not how the game was designed to be.

- Little support: Yes I know it seems like there are a bunch of people who want this terrible idea to happen, but if you go look at old reddit posts THERE ARE SO MANY MEMES AND DENUNCIATIONS OF THE MODERN UPDATE. I don't know where those players went.

- Maps not big enough: If you want planes and cars, you don't realize how boring they will be, they will move to quickly and take like two seconds to get to where they want to be. So if you are interested in cars and planes flying long distances, FORGET ABOUT IT.

- You will be nerfed: We all know how nerfed got powers became, now imagine the things you are trying to destroy are about a 100X stronger. If buildings are not 100x stronger then it will be boring and inaccurate, if they are 100x stronger it will just be boring.

I can go on and on about this but I want to get in as much time playing worldbox as I can in case this "modern update" comes along and ruins it.

Oh and another thing, I am not someone who says video games cause violence, but if you see a medieval game and immediately think "I WANT TANKS, I WANT GUNS!!!" than I think there's and issue there.

if you don't know all the modern update proponents want technologies to be disabled out of respect for YOU, so respect them a bit, plus memes cannot be considered representative of players

This post is your opinion, and that's 100% valid! Discounting other people's opinions because they don't line up with yours isn't a good thing. The devs will make the best decision they see fit based on player feedback and more Worldbox in whatever form is a good thing for us all.

Indeed, toggleable modernity is just fine.

Also, anyone who says you can't mix fantasy and miniguns clearly hasn't played very many jRPGs. Final Fantasy, Tales of Etc, whatever. Hell, the Star Ocean games were basically STAR TREK with magic and fantasy.

Yeah but fun fact, warhammer and warhammer 40k take place in separate universes, I don't really care about this anymore if you guys really want this ill just leave a bad review on steam, get a refund and play the old Humblbundle version.

As far as your argument goes, it was weak. Your points were based on bias instead of fact. All you did were argue against the most basic possibilities, rather than many. And you didn't even do that right. Smh

The only thing people need to know about any kind of modern update is that the developers made it clear that isn't the direction that the development of the game is going. It's a cool idea and chances are that if it is possible mod makers will make this a reality for people that want it.

No point in creating arguments or gloating over it. I think Steam Workshop is the most important because most games with a good modding community really make a huge impact on the amount of content you can add to a game.

I'm starting to really think you're trolling on this. It all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day, but you are treating the 'modern update' as you so-call it as a game-breaking update that will destroy its enjoyability forever. That couldn't be further from the truth. The devs know how to handle this game, and should they ever decide to implement such an update, I'd have full confidence in their ability to pull it off well.

Modern technology could also be restricted by world laws anyway, as other people suggested; so people on the forums like yourself who are not fond of the update could just simply turn it off. Done. No need to complain about other people's opinions anymore because it's not like you're going to be stuck playing the way they want to play; you will have choice.

i agree, theres literally nothing wrong with suggestions, i think the modern update would be fine in my opinion, but treating other peoples opinions like they're a disease doesn't make for a good debate, if you want ppl to respect your opinions, ya just gotta remember to respect other ppls opinions, it took me a while to learn that myself
