In addition, a new book of the original has been released for the first time in 12 years.
In line with that, this game was also planned and developed as a celebration of the 30th anniversary.
It seems that the release was delayed, but I feel that it will be a great game.
We live in times when a song from 1996 becomes a meme after over 20 years.
At this point I just chuckle when I recognise something old.
And press the buy button once I know that like the end product.
Such a GLORIOUS series deserve a little better: i mean, i love retro pixel art style when done properly, and the trailer shows on occasion some nice animations for a fireball, but this prototype was already seen in 2018 among all the teaser projects for Lodoss anniversary... Metroidvania? Wonderful!!! There can be GREAT games in that genre like Symphony of the Night or The Messenger, but could you please make it with some depth and QUALITY, following exactly the series 'campaign', including ALL enemies and bosses from the original series, and allowing us to play with at least the five (5) main characters?!?! SHOW SOME RESPECT TO THE ORIGINAL SERIES!! There's some pp that still remember! If you're doing it, at least do it WELL!!!!! not just to exploit and monetize nostalgia, DO IT WELL!!!
"According to Playism, who’s publishing Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, this game will fill in the gaps from the most recent novel in the series, which released in Japan in August 2019. As Deedlit explores this strange labyrinth, she’ll encounter Ghim and more of her friends and will need to navigate the maze with the help of the spirits Sylph and Salamander."
So it is respecting the series. Just not the ova or tv versions.
I haven't read the novels only seen the OVA, but does Ghim not die in the books?
But, in the end, if the new novel is not a sequel or in a place after that death, then until someone can figure that out we won't know.
