Starter area where the early quest suggests, upgraded once for more range.

Hollow out massive pit below and around the flame (with largest terrain block for free resources, or placing and destroying foundations for neatness) Ceilings/foundations snapped to flame, angled stairway around the flame into pit. Ceilings as floors snapped to stairs, walls extending up from the floors.
A strip as deep as you need across the north side for a farm when the time comes, and a strip down the east side for pets. All NPCs and storage in the pit, all benches except seedling bench in the pit.

North into the shroud for spamming E on mushrooms (Shroud Liquid runs)
North-East into shroud for early weapon chest and Salt at the tower.

Use all other flames for fast travel spots, for expanding quest progression, farming resources/chests, gotta keep that rested buff.

i completely demolished Longkeep and rebuilt it. That's the ruined keep next to the starting area.

so, from the obelisk just northwest a bit from willow crush, use a pick to carve a path up the mountains going west. theres a large flat area with multiple natural rock pillars around it, and one in the center that is great for placing the altar on top of. the only real issue with this location is its close enough to the world boundary that fully expanding the altar wont get as much expansion to the west.

lots of spots like it along the western mountain ranges, honestly.

Harvest homestead for the well and huge fields. Doesn't take much to repair even replacing floors and such. Starts with okay comfort. Large enough basement for crafting benches. Prebuilt barn and pen for animals. Large enough upper floor for a fair amount of beds. Really good if looking for a easier route to the building aspects.

Longkeep for me. The story of Captain Arkwright and his men's last stand makes me want to rebuild the castle. yeah sure lots of other last stands and heroics happened all over embervale, but damn if that man didn't uphold his orders even unto the last, watching the world rot around him yet he stayed to hold what he thought was the last intact vault. But alas all things fail even good men fall when the shroud closes in, we find his ring on a walker below braelyn bridge.

Rebuilt Homestead Farm in my first playthrough. This time I rebuilt Fort Kelvin. Next time it might be Wilow Crush but there are many great places. I especially love to rebuild lost places in this game.

I tend to build in the open space between Mistbury Catacombs and Fort Kelvin. I have also had my eye on the Cave area behind Fort Kelvin.

That where I like to build as well. But this time I'm trying to find a place in the desert.

New to this base building, I chose Woodgard for the growing areas it has. Question is there a building block that matches the large "cobble" or stone of the pathways there?
