Better than Valheim?
Do you think the game is better than valheim or can it become better?

Yeah Valheim sucks

I like them both, but I gravitate toward this one because I'm burned out on viking lore and I'm a big thrid person action RPG fan. So far, this game is doing it right. Of course, it could stand to be a bit harder in spots, but it's not bad as it is. I'll run through the achievement list and then drop it until more content comes out.

steam needs to stop putting that stupid "like other games you play" box on store pages. 90% of the time it's wholly wrong

this game is only like valheim in it's food system. largely nothing else is remotely similar

I'd say different, Valkheinm has a stronger ambiance in my opinion but combat is a tad better here and the non-procedural world is also a plus.

Both games are great tho but this one clearly needs more content while Valheim had tons on EA rewlease and they added a lot since then.

Enshrouded isn't specifically "better than Valheim" but it's good on it's own, just as Valheim is. While I don't care for the only rotate at 90 degrees building system in Enshrouded, it's still more expansive than Valheim's building system.

There's more of a Story and Questing in Enshrouded but possibly less replay value being hand crafted (coming from a person that prefers hand crafted over Procedural maps).

The building aspect is where Enshrouded shines and I hope they keep updating it and eventually allow us to rotate every 15 degrees.

Valheim will always hold a special place in my heart, I've got like 600 hours in it and have built "all the things" over the years. Enshrouded, for me, just seems right. It seems to tick all the right boxes for what I like in this type of game.

it's a voxel system it's a 3d grid. the voxels are just smaller than minecraft's. the closest you'll get is doing steps like the roof parts to merge into angled parts.

So we'll have to get creative in our builds to give an "appearance" of meandering streets when it's really just straight N-S / E-W lines. Is this true of all Voxel games? That it can't manage anything outside of 90 degree rotations?

Valheim takes a giant sh*t on this game.

Сonstructions details in valheim are much better.

Combat is way better than in Valheim. I often died in Valheim mostly not because of the enemies in combat, but cause of the clunky steering in combat.

Valheim sucks in almost all aspects. I'm glad I switched from Valheim to Enshrouded.

I personally like this game better.

the world in enshrouded has hand crafted locations with environmental story telling and has a sense of exploration with lots of hidden things to find and discover which the procedural generated world of velheim didnt scratch for me.

I like the combat more in this game than I did in velheim. Velheim combats felt even more simple than this game.

I also like the visual style of enshrouded more than velheim. I hate the way velheim looks.

I like this game has quest and feels like im going on an adventure. I dont like how your only goal in Velheim is to kill the bosses, so everything you do in the game is just to prepare for those fights.

A lot of the small things I did not like about velheim, enshrouded seems to resolve. For example, dieing when you cut down trees in velheim.

So I like this game waaaaay more than Velheim.

in voxel based games everything is placed on a 3d grid. models can be rotated but they are placed on the grid. you could make a meandering road if your fine with it having small squared off chunks everywhere. the voxel grid in enshrouded is much finer grain than minecraft or 7days
