this game is only like valheim in it's food system. largely nothing else is remotely similar
Both games are great tho but this one clearly needs more content while Valheim had tons on EA rewlease and they added a lot since then.
There's more of a Story and Questing in Enshrouded but possibly less replay value being hand crafted (coming from a person that prefers hand crafted over Procedural maps).
The building aspect is where Enshrouded shines and I hope they keep updating it and eventually allow us to rotate every 15 degrees.
Valheim will always hold a special place in my heart, I've got like 600 hours in it and have built "all the things" over the years. Enshrouded, for me, just seems right. It seems to tick all the right boxes for what I like in this type of game.
the world in enshrouded has hand crafted locations with environmental story telling and has a sense of exploration with lots of hidden things to find and discover which the procedural generated world of velheim didnt scratch for me.
I like the combat more in this game than I did in velheim. Velheim combats felt even more simple than this game.
I also like the visual style of enshrouded more than velheim. I hate the way velheim looks.
I like this game has quest and feels like im going on an adventure. I dont like how your only goal in Velheim is to kill the bosses, so everything you do in the game is just to prepare for those fights.
A lot of the small things I did not like about velheim, enshrouded seems to resolve. For example, dieing when you cut down trees in velheim.
So I like this game waaaaay more than Velheim.
