Mod Support
The game looks and feels great so far, but personally I think that the devs need to put out a modding kit so that this game can live on without the devs being pressured to add new content 100% of the time. The playerbase is more than able to take care of themselves, and this game's lifespan would be as long as the modkit allowed them to be.

Personally, if the devs allow us to do so, I can already see model swaps being a thing within a week of the launch of the modkit.

no mod support for now as its a custom built engine. its not going to be soon if at all

Yep it sorely needs mods. Its going to be a bit of work since its a custom engine but its needed. Especially with some of the questionable design decisions put into the game atm.

For the very first day of early access, seems pretty wild to think that a game that is maybe half finished is "sorely" in need of mod support. This just screams impatience.

I'm not basing it on where the game is - i am basing it on the choices made for the game. Stop screaming lack of reading comprehension :)

I think it doesnt need mods IMMEDIATELY but preparing a mod kit should be a high priority since I think this game will get popular quickly. Then the devs might not be able to keep up with the demands of the playerbase, A modkit would allow the players to stay around for updates and play the game more meanwhile the devs work on things that actually matter for the game. The modkit would keep the players preoccupied.

I perfectly understand what you meant. I also wasn't insulting you at all, but if you want to go that route I guess...
I usually wouldn't agree, but I think this game would greatly benefit from modding.

The lack of awareness in your rebuttal is astounding.

I'm just saying its a pretty simple argument to understand.

First off - it was day one of EA not of the games developement. Its been in developement for some time with communication from the devs on what the game will have at launch and so forth.

The game being a fixed world(ie not procedually generated) is a long term investment - not something you can just suggest for them to fix. The game "needs" mods because it has excellent base systems - like its voxel building. It has decently pretty graphics aswell. But if it wants to survive for longer and make money in the ways of 7 days, minecraft and so forth - IE games who have survived for years and years - it needs more then it currently has in its roadmap. If they dont want it to survive for years and years then hey... good for them. I question the sanity of their dev leads - but it is what it is.
