is this a bug or not
i am genuinely unsure if i am missing something and just not getting the mechanics, or if this a bug. it seems that no matter how much i try, i cannot get my t-rex and kentrosaurus to turn into helpers.

they got perfect pens that meet all their needs, i feed them treats and poppins, play them their friendship songs, pet them, and take them to walk to the forest, and they still will not become helpers. only one i am still missing on trying is feeding their favorite treats, because i have stuffed every fragrant item i have at this point of the game in their mouths, and havent discovered their favorite yet.

i assumed that filling the ring around the heart icon in their profile would do the trick, but it seems to have no effect (that, or it appears full but is not actually full).

do i need to max it out multiple times? is there a limit for how many helpers i can have? or is this just a bug?

T-Rex and Kentrosaurus in particular have VERY low starting points on the 'friendship scale'. Basically, there's 3 'starting points' per se that every dinosaur can have: High, Moderate, or Low. T-Rex and Kentro are on the Low scale and thus take a very, very long time to become Helpers. It isn't a bug. I also had my T-Rex super happy and she took almost the entire month to be a Helper. You just have to be even more patient for these stubborn lizards to be Helpers.

As for filling the ring, that represents how happy they are on a given day. Having it full means they receive a load of 'friendship points' and thus become Helpers faster. Which is why when the day starts, the green ring seemingly got lower, the daily happy score has reset and recalculated all the stuff you've done to make them happy, but since you haven't done manual steps like walking them after you woke up for the day yet, the bar 'goes down'.

I hope that made sense. You're doing great, those two dinos in particular just take forever to become Helpers. Almost every dinosaur in the game is Moderate on their friendship which is why you've had an easier time up until taming these two. Keep at it, they'll be Helpers soon!

the happiness they end the day with gets converted into trust, which is a hidden stat, and the amount of trust they need to become helpers is generally much more than can be gotten in a single day (and differs from species to species which is why some become helpers much sooner than others). so yes, you need to make them happy for multiple days, but it doesn't need to be MAXED every day, tho that would certainly make them turn helper faster.

link to the required trust for each species; https://paleo-pines.fandom.com/wiki/Happiness

why they decided to make trust a hidden stat so you can't track the progress is beyond me. i had no idea how friendship/helperifying worked for a long time because of it.

If you can do this everyday this will help them becoming helpers faster. This is not my work credit goes to someone else who posted this in another forum.
