Endless feedback
Yesterday we tried the endless mode ( rather than torment 15+ ).
Our first attempt brought us to floor 20 ( with the standard build we used on torment ), while the second one to floor 36 ( with a different one for the endless mode purpose ).

We couldn't complete floor 36 because of lack of damage ( our fighter didn't enhance their cards to have them on first draw, so we could bring the pope to 60/70 hp rather than killing them ).

Our biggest issues came with bosses that increased the skill cost by 1, but apart from that it was pretty straightforward.

At some point it's a good idea to get rid of cards like stuns / freeze / teleports, as well as for green cards ( we didn't remove cc, not knowing whether there was enemies able to be controlled or not ), eventually replacing them with something to remove loads of black cards.

Apart from that, past level 20 ( more or less ) all encounters were finished on first round.

We are definitely going to try to go past floor 36 by leaving the fighter AOE and switching the archer to single target damage.

ps: I think the burrito artifact could use some nerf ( 1hp per 1 mana is a little low, while stone mask shouldnt be a legendary item, but rather a rare ( or even common ) one.

That's nice feedback, thank you for taking the time to write it down! It is useful especially since we are in the middle of Endless mode rework.

I forgot to say that we also found out that at some point ( can't remember the floor, but probably was around the 30th, more or less ) the game started lagging with attack cards.

I mean that after playing an attack card, it took 2/3 seconds for the card to execute animation/effects.

We tried quit it and resume where we stopped but nothing changed.

I have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz 3.79 GHz, 32 gb ram and a 3080 ( another player has the same build and the other one a less performant pc ), so I am not sure what the issue might be or how to deal with it.

The game doesn't have performance issues (it's pretty close to the metal) so I would say chances are good it's something connected to the card logic. If this happens again it would be super useful to see a video or logs from that playthrough.

We noticed that lag starts kicking in past lvl 25/30, regardless the number of enemies on the screen.

Edit: when I talk about lag I mean delay with the players attack cards, that at some point overlaps fast enough to take up to 7/8 sec to be cast ( and sometimes the cast didn’t occur because the enemies died from another attack, ending up with a card lost )

We are currently lvl 52 endless.
We might go past 100, but we’ll probably drop it sooner ( our fighter is not able to do a thing because of the high hp enemies and the block afflix ).

Interesting, we will look into that. Any chance you and your friends could send us your saves? We could see if we can reproduce the lag by ourselves.

How to find saves:
  • On Windows (Steam): press Win+R, enter path %appdata% and press enter.

  • You will see two or three folders named R2G_Hellcard_demo, R2G_Hellcard_demo<long number>.bak and R2G_Common_WIP1 and, most importantly, R2G_Hellcard. Not all folders have to be present.
  • Pack them all with anything (zip, 7z, rar).
  • Finally please email it to support@thingtrunk.com and link this thread in the email.
