question related to books

i'm a bit confused on how the "study" mechanic works it seems like it does nothing. do i need to cast the card before i use it or does it just stay in my hand?

Spend all your energy to make the book card usefull. The little yellow book icon in it will show how many mana is nedded. After that, the book card will become available to use for 0 mana cost and apply for you.

right. im just not seeing it like work in general my damage doesnt go up for one of them and it doesnt apply on my bar.

you 'study' a book by spending mana on it. once it is studied it will then appear in your hand ready to be 'cast' for its benefit at 0 additional mana. Some books are very much worth this.... like the +2 damage for all heroes one.

or if you just cycle a crap ton of mana and can dump some on a book. very good.

I can also 100 percent tell you it works... (I use the damage book often).

Some of the status react things (books included) seem a little bugged though. Like conduit, I've never seen conduit work... same with the +2 block for status stuff.

alright makes sence. was just wondering cause my damage wasnt reflecting the fact i used the book.

maybe this will also help. you dont get the benefits the same turn you spent mana to 'study' it... or so ive seen. you only get the benefits later when you use it at 0 cost.

ok just to be sure. i have to spend mana on it in order to "study" it. if i where to get it for free by casting alot it wouldnt study. is that correct?

there is a second number on the top of it alongside mana cost. that is the remaining study value.

Playing a Book card with a not zero Study counter will use up ALL your mana. It will also reduce the Study counter by the same amount. Once the study counter is at zero you can play Book card for free and its effects apply.
