New update triggers Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml detected in HELLCARD.exe

I assume this is a false positive, but it happened even after verifying files and re-downloading the .exe.

It 99.99% is a false positive. It's a headache - which antivirus reported it? I will pester them to verify it and fix it.

This could work, but we would have to be able to detect false positives from withing the game for that

Windows Defender is reporting it. i also had it happen to me

ALSO just since dev looked at this. before it happend i was able to boot into game and go into singleplayer. once i clicked my character for endless game crashed then started popping out that error of it being trojan.
edit : forgot to mention can just allow it through Defender and it works

Cynet, Microsoft and Rising flagged the executable to be malicious or having problem.

Same here. Currently playing it from Steam Deck as I was unable to launch it on the laptop due to said virus error. Hope you guys will fix this soon.

Hey everyone - it was a false positive. Since MS decided to misidentify the game as infected on Friday they didn't do anything about it over the weekend. It's a headache that happens from time to time after an update. C++ custom engines are often falsely identified with virus signatures by heuristics.

I can see that MS no longer reports "infection", so should be fine now. If anyone has this problem please report it here so we can start calling the AV vendor and ask for a manual check.
