Realistic pros and cons of this game?
I am a huge farming sim fan and have been for many years, unfortunately so many indie releases are not that good nowadays and I just want to know whats good and bad about this game.

I am more willing to look past minor bugs and controls but my biggest worry when buying a game now is if the content in the game had depth or is it just all surface level nonsense. I like having a variety of content to play through that has depth and intricacies.

And sure I could buy this game and play it for a bit then refund but sometimes its not enough time to actually tell.

I have a review on my profile if you'd like to check it out. It should be one of the first things you see. Though some of the cons I had has been fixed such as there's a map of progress for main story so no more being stuck for 1 in game year. Controller is better but probably not the best still. Steam Deck saves should be working now too. This is not comparable to Stardew/Harvest Moon though, it's one of the unique farming games in a very long time imo

My experience with Stardew was starting a game, doing whatever I want, and sort of making friends and repairing the community center as happenstance allows. Immortal Life is just the opposite. I felt obligated in a good way to do whatever I was told by absolutely everyone. Any self improvement is just incidental. In Stardew, I selected a spouse when I started my farm, whatever fit the theme for the particular game, and I beelined towards that marriage and all other friendships were incidental. In Immortal Life, I make friends with everyone about as readily as they command me to do their bidding, which is readily. I named my protagonist Shih Tzu because I'm everyone's lapdog. Very enjoyable, and probably my favorite life/farm sim. I love all the cultivators and other villagers. Very likable.

This tracks with the Chinese philosophy of this era: gift giving, mutual support, and less of a capitalistic, "get yours, and yours alone" and more a communal "everyone thrives together" feeling. It really does feel good to help everyone thrive and you just happen to be everyone's Elder Sibling in the spiritual and hierarchical sense, and how you have much to learn from your other masters before you become "The Legendary Hero."

Also, Li Mengqing is absolutely adorable, I love how she progresses through the seasons to become the hero of legend she always wanted to be. It really is not about getting it right the first time, it's getting back up and learning how to take the road (or rivers) that life guides you in.

Li Mengqing is my favorite character in the game as well.
