To the devs, about the first and last name syntax

In english, the last name is last, not first, so you got both reversed.

i think there trying to keep the asian astectic with the naming quite common in aniem and manga tho i can see how ppl not used to it might find it jarring mby someone can make a mod for it

I think if anything it might make sense to change the fields to family name and personal name.

I know that Koreans say the last name first, as does China. So, in the games aesthetic, it's correct.

They did not reverse it. In China, last name is first. They are sticking to the culture of the game!

I was a korean linguist in the army and so I've thought on this before. I don't see how it is ever correct to call the name that comes first "last name" lol. Family name is a much better translation, and has been used before so there is precedent for it.

AS for this point, the opposing argument is that in china, the family name is first name and the personal name is last name. The meaning of first and last do not change during translation lol.

Why are we even forced to choose a first AND last name at all? Most games where you can choose a last name make it optional.
And other than that: why can we only type 6 letters each? All my names I usually use in games are longer.

Because in China, first and last name is way more important compared to USA. This game strictly follows what xianxia and Chinese is. Not sure about the length though, I don't use a long name. Personally I don't think last name option should be removed, it would be weird even if it makes sense for translating and I could see Chinese people playing this game when knowing that they removed it for English, they could feel weird/disrespected about it. I guess they could have made it optional but they didn't think of that. The dev team from what I understand are Chinese and I personally haven't seen any of them interact in the Discord server either. There's one staff that's on the translation team interacting but that's about it. I don't think this is worth getting upset about if a game makes you have a first and last name because of the culture. Anyone that complains/are negative about it seems rude. It's fine if you don't understand why it's so important but continuing to complain about it after there has been explanations is weird (not saying you are but basically anyone who replies after this and their reply is)

i dont care what name comes 1st but people only seem to call my by my last name in game.
