Yang can make them from you from items you get as monster loot.
i am stuck at completing the cloud bridge because brother Xie does not give me the cloud sword for some reason and I haven't seen an announcement that this bug was fixed yet.
Replaced the spell Illumination with Spiritbinding (Temporary name). Killing monsters with this new spell will give you the chance of getting its Spirit Orb directly. At the same time, Yang will no longer create Spirt Orbs for you.
So I think better to stockpile spirit orbs from Yang for me now
1. The spell does not do much damage, is costly and has an abysmal cooldown time - maybe with upgrades that will get better.
2. Once cast the magical bullet moves very slowly - bad for hitting monsters like bats and others that move fast.
3. The success rate seems to be very low :/ I went into the flower mystic realm and hit a few different monsters with it - no luck getting an orb.
I will try again in some other dungeons - maybe not all monsters can be collected yet. Yang had a very limited variety of or decorations so far.
edit: I went through the cave from floor 1 to 5 and used the spell as often as I could on various monsters, which was roughly 15 uses I guess. I hit every time even the bats. but had no success with catching anything so far.
Either the success rate is very very low (<10%) or it might not be fully implemented / bugged at the moment.
By now the spell is upgraded to lv3. For the lv4 I need some sort of 'tentacles' - guess I have to unlock another mystic realm first.
Guess for results I do need that new tool from Lin Wanxi - for which I don't hve all parts yet.
One thing that I'm wondering about is whether I need one of those or whether I have to make a new orb every time I catch something.
- First, I was wrong, the spell is enough to cach something, the chances are just abyssmally low before it is upgraded to lv 4 (which requires collecting the tentacles from the Oceam Realm). I managed to catch a bat with the spell alone.
- Second I got the materials together to have Lin Wnxi craft that catching orb.
It actually is a 'useable' item.
That means you have to activate it in the inventory and it increases the chance to catch something when using the spell to defeat a monster in one of the dungeons.
It stays active for a few in game hours and then shuts down. That is roughly enough for 5 to 6 catching attempts - because the spell-cooldown time is still 45 seconds on lv4.
Success rate at lv4 and with the orb active is maybe 10 to 15%.
Then the orb goes into 12 hours of 'cooldown' time before it can be used again.
I have managed to catch 4 different monsters while using the the orb to assist the spell
(Emerald Essence from Flower Realm, Flower Essesnce, Grass Essence from Lotus Realm and one of those exxploding earth spirits from the Desert Realm).
All of the caught monsters turned into a decoration object -> one of those monster orbs which Yang used to make.
Are these decorations you made any good? Have a good amount of hp/mp/stam recovery? Is it worth all the work?
Haven't been able to catch a boss or any of the stronger monsters yet - could be wrong but I think anything I caught i 'one-shot' with the trapping spell.
Though I have tried weakening some of the stronger ones and then finishing them off with the trap spell.
(And I have still trouble aiming it, missed a weakened ocean wraith three times and almost got ko-ed in return x_x)
This is what the orbs look like - if that helps?
