Luiza house bug

I have an issue where I cannot proceed once entering the Luiza house.

When she invites you inside, my character does not follow her through the curtains (although they open up for both characters). The cut scene proceeds with Ethan standing outside the rooms listening to the whole conversation.

If I let the scene play out, the cut scene ends but Ethan is still stuck in the same place. No way to proceed, If I choose to skip the cut scene, it goes to a black screen and nothing happens. It doesn't matter when I choose to skip. I have also tried both first person and third person. Same result. I have loaded and reloaded several times, also using the autosave.

Basically this is game breaking but I don't see anyone else experiencing the same thing. What am I supposed to do?

I have updated to the latest drivers and have experienced no other problems.

Nevermind, I managed to fix it by verifying the files. Took two attempts but finally worked.
