Missing Save Data

I've completed the game once, had unlocks, and today upon boot, all my data was gone. The game just asks me to start a new game. The only odd thing is that someone was playing through steam family sharing, but that is meant to keep save data separate. Any help would be appreciated.

I've got the same problem, but didn't have steam share enabled. All the saves are still in the folder, but the game acts like they don't exist.

I can't even seem to find the folder? Where is it located?

I'm having the same issue.

When I went to load my save, it said that there was an error saving the game and asked if I wanted to retry. I wasn't trying to save anything and didn't want it to overwrite anything, so I said no.

Then I tried loading my save again and it started from the opening cutscene, so I alt f4'd real quick to try and avoid anything being overwritten. I booted it back up and it had me go through the initial setup again, then showed no saves.

I still have all of the saves in my data folder, but it's not reading any of them..

Same problem here.
The folder location: Steam folder / userdata / [Then I guess user ID, some numbers] / 1196590 / remote / win64_save.

What I tried and what DID NOT HELP:
1. Uploading saves from steam cloud, deleting saves from local folder, replacing
2. Doing the same but with canceling sync with cloud and going offline
3. Going to game properties on steam - local files - checking the integrity of game data.

I hope someone will solve the issue (write the solution here plz) or it would be fixed with a patch.

Looks like I wasn't the only one with the issue. I literally finished the game today and was looking forward to Mercenaries to try it out or even give the New Game+ a go only to find my saves gone. Happened while I was playing! I couldn't get anything to sync up. Oddly when I finished off the 4th Lord it was suppose to auto save and that failed then all my saves were just gone.

I tried a new game to see what would happened. Got to a point where I could save and nothing. No save. It's like saving has been disabled somehow.

Yup my saves are gone too, they got messed up while I was playing the game. All of a sudden auto saves weren't working. Then I tried to save manually at a typewriter and none of my previous saves were there. It wouldn't even let me make a new save. Restarted my game and POOF all everything gone. Only option is to make a new game. Really hope they fix this.

Same issue. First playthrough I had 8 hours in. My save wouldn't load so I had to start over. I spent all day yesterday playing and had about 10hrs in. I had 17 save slots to try and keep a bunch of backups. Today none of them loaded. I can't do this anymore until there is a fix.

Also tried to play on another PC, while steam cloud sync was on, did not work, like I never played.

I am having the same problem. it has done it to me 3 times now. I go into manually save the game at the typewriter, it will tell me cannot save file and then deletes the file I tried to save, and then all my other saves as well. I went into the saves folder and all of them are still there. The game won't read them. I don't know if they are corrupt or something? I have looked up every work around I can find and none of them work (Run as administrator and several others). All my achievements are still in steam... It makes no sense to me. Can someone please help or is this being patched. It is really annoying to have to start from the beginning pretty much every day.

My guess is that its something with autosave, and something goes wrong during that and it causes a save wipe. It seems like something well need to wait on a ptach for, cause it doesn't seem like we can fix it on user end.
