Shadow of Rose story at the end created plot hole at the start
I finished RE Village yesterday and also played through Shadow of Rose right afterwards. I know there have been quite a few complaints about copy pasted content in the DLC (where I would actually agree as for example half of the ending is basically the same ending as RE Village itself which makes it pointless as it doesn't show anything new there).

Still there is something that is actually bothering me regarding the story itself. Please note that if you haven't played the game and don't want story spoilers, then stop reading. But as the game has been out for quite a while I don't think talking about spoilers here is to bad.

Anyway...

Towards the end Miranda said that she manipulated Rose to get into her realm and for her to reject her powers so she can weaken her and take her as a vessel for her daughter. The question however is where was Rose at the start exactly and how did she get her hands on that mold in a jar?

We know the character of K didn't actually exist. However she supposedly got into a car, drove to a building where this mold was being analyzed and got into the room where she could then "interact" with it. Did no one question her? I mean she apparently walked into that room alone.

One could argue that she might've been dreaming from the start and through the dream made up all of it because of the Miranda manipulation to get into that psychic world. But there never was any indication that she was sleeping to begin with. Also does that mean she doesn't need to be close to the mold to interact with the "network"? The whole thing just creates so many questions that it leaves me somewhat unsatisfied with that story.

Also who is that idiot at the end calling Rose "Evelyne" and why is he doing that? This thing didn't really make any sense to me. It seems like he just acts like a douche for the sake of being douche...

I wouldn't say having the same ending was pointless, after playing the main story and seeing that ending, many were confused on:
- what 'things' Rose can do even Chris doesn't know about
- why the driver called her Eveline
- how many years later does this take place
- what happened to Mia

and the DLC pretty much answers all these questions, so seeing that ending again but this time you understand the context of the conversation that happened.

The character of 'K' was a real person in Rose's life, he was K9, a member of Chris' Hound wolf squad, he appears near the end of the main game when u play as Chris in the village. Same character and VA.

but the 'K' that Rose was interacting with was an illusion, Rose was close with Chris and his team before, Miranda just created an illusion and made Rose believe she was talking to the real K when in fact it was a fake one. The real K wasn't even there.

Rose also works for Chris and his organization now, she has clearance and everything, even that ending she says' Duty calls' as in she works there, so it makes sense she was able to go to the lab where the mold was kept and no one questioned her.

Yes, he called her Eveline just to be a douche, cause Rose is pretty much the successor to Eveline. Eveline was meant to be the vessel for Eva, she was created using Eva's DNA and mold in an experiment, but due to side effects she aged rapidly and was deemed a failure. Since Ethan was infected with Eveline's mold, and Rose is Ethan's daughter, that makes Rose also contain Eva's DNA making her the successor and a perfect vessel for Eva .
