Hey guys, just wanted to share a thought, currently the samurai edge is pointless after the early segments of village, obviously being a “DLC” weapon it doesn’t come with upgrades. So it doesn’t create an advantage I guess

I don’t understand why the devs didn’t make it so it could be upgradable after competing the game. I can’t see it hurting the experience.

I really wanted to take the gun into higher difficulties because it just looks awesome. Always been a fan of the hun in prior games.

i don't understand either, they are asking for 12.99 for the dlc standalone. so you are paying at least 6 bucks for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gun thats just reminiscent of the old games.... but its pointless.

Really a missed oppertunity. The standard handgun you're starting with, is handsdown the better weapon, since it can be upgraded. I feel like Capcom scammed me. The Deluxe version is simply pointless.

IMO it dosent justify the cost, the other content is nice though, am a sucker for that type of tat. But whoever put together the bundle knew well and truly the samurai edge would be a selling point. So for me not being to upgrade it hits harder - so yeah IMO until they do something to it (probably wont) it really devalues the pack.

It really should have been upgradable. The argument of it being overpowered is irrelevent when we pay real money for that weapon, and it's a single player game so who cares. The fact that it's outclassed as soon as you upgrade the starting gun once is absurd and had I known it was going to be so bad I wouldn't have got the deluxe edition, I certainly won't be again that's for sure.

the Samurai Edge was the only thing conducive to me buying the deluxe edition, and to have it be absolutely pointless? yeah i'm with you, total bullsh!t. i'm glad i didn't fork out the extra money for the deluxe edition.
i really hope this is changed in a patch for people who have the samurai edge, to actually be able to upgrade it. i mean what galaxy brain thought it be best to have the gun at a fixed damage output and NOT upgrade able.

I really don't think its a big ask for the gun to be upgradeable and as MonkeyBone said, being able to upgrade it after the games been cleared really dosent impact anything. dosent make the game easier, impact speed runs or make the DLC pay to win. IMO i just honestly want to use the gun. it annoys me that it either just sits in the shop unused or in my inventory taking space... heck I guess i can do a village of shadows run using only the gun since it dosent get infinite ammo. should be challanging enough.

I mean technically that pistol works kinda different to all other weaker samurai edges but yeah anything would have been better than what we would have gotten. The one in RE7 hit like a truck so can’t complain
