Just Walking Simulator with some Puzzles.
one of the best moments in first playthroughs repeated tho one of the worst
putting the game down to solving puzzles and evaiding the enemy puts the game from funny shooting game with a story classing its self as a horror game to having a genuine horror section with a more classic style of making puzzles a relevent part of the game like the og's had
its good pacing but as said its walking simulator which isnt good on repeated playthoughs which is most likely people speedruning the game or something
Sooooooo - in their wisdom they made a whole level of it in Village almost 20 years later. THAT makes sense right?
You lack imagination, Mr. Bonk. Getting hurt while hallucinating could easily translate to the PC hurting themselves, i.e. Ethan is stabbing himself whenever he's getting stabbed by the dolls.
There are many things that happen in the RE series that can't happen in real life. I don't think forcing someone to self harm via hypnosis is more unlikely than any other fantastical/sci-fi thing that happens in Resi.
And in regards to the creature in the basement, it could simply be explained by cardiac arrest.
Yeah zombies aren't too far fetched. To me, Resi really gets into fantasy land when there are monsters growing uncontrollably to impossible sizes without even eating anything and you're left wondering where is all that mass coming from.
I still very much enjoy when that happens though.
