I didn't touch any DLC.
Ok, let me explain what that means:
Village is longer (not by much though) in terms of raw estimate time to finish one playthrough. But it's much easier and faster to complete in the long run.
In fact, Village is arguably one of the easiest RE games to 100%, because nearly everything in the game can be cheesed one way or another. RE7 has more stuff requiring considerable skill and patience to beat.
Village of Shadows? Can be done in NG+ with OP infinite ammo weapons.
S Rank all Mercenaries stages? Just get Chris' Finishing Reload skill and it will be a breeze.
Knife only? No healing? No Merchant? Pick Casual difficulty with the Karambit Knife and you can get all that simultaneously without much skill.
Village requires more playthroughs to complete (at least three for story mode, while RE7 can be done in two), but NG+ just makes everything a lot easier, and unlike RE7 you can skip cutscenes which makes replays go faster.
I can't compare with RE4R because I didn't play it, but original RE4 was already longer than Village so I asume that's still the case with the remake.
