He's probably played RE5,
or he likes/follows the RE franchise and story in general,
or he researched Chris' background when he learned about his involvement,
or, lastly, he's a huge fan of A.W
Well, I doubt Chris would have mentioned in his report that he punched a giant boulder, and nobody except Sheva saw it, so that's not stuff someone would normally know by checking his background.
Hahah, yeah ok, true!
Literally nothing makes sense in this game... I've played through the game about 6 or 7 times... and every time this game has me LOL hard every 30-60 seconds because of how terribly written it is.
This is the worst game to ever get "Overwhelmingly Positive" and actually deserve it.
I love it.
As to why I think Duke is the megamycete's avatar, ever find it funny how he knows so much skills like cooking, weapon tuning and business (he has memories and skillsets of everyone absorbed by the megamycete). Ever find it funny as well how quickly he moves for such a big dude? As to why he helps Ethan, would you (the megamycete) not want a better more compatible host (Rose) than the current one (Miranda)? I reckon Miranda got scammed by the megamycete into thinking the ritual was to revive her daughter when it actually just transfers her powers to Rose (Hence why she says "my power is leaving me")
All just speculation anyways
Nice perspective and explanations! Never thought of this!
You know what. You got one good as theory running there, might even be true at this point. its obvious that something like chris refusing to explain anything to eathin was just forced but they even aknowlage that with the chris section
they obviously werent that serious with the writing and just wanted to give the player a good experience from all this
having the duke be explained because he is literally no one works in his favour. why he knows so much about whats going on. how he has said skills. why he isnt even mentioned or cared for anywhere else
if he was pulling the strings in a literal sense then keeping eathin alive but just barly makes this whole "super lucky bs" be more the megamyceed is manipulating eathin as well
gear he may need, literal additional strength to push through maranda fight without a heart
probably never going to get a confirmed answer on something like this in fear of being "what was the entire point of the game story then" because it gets enough backlash as it is
the megamyceed would seem to be rather clever to convince everyone that it was all eathans doing. it has no power or control and it was "defeated" by the explosion and not living through rose
it could continue going unoticed for however long it needs for whatever it wants
