The denuvo message gives a link to a codedfusion site.
Yeah, it's not like the one EA put on Mass Effect Legendary Edition (some 15 year old games) where you have to be online all the time just to play it
But yeah afaik if you start this now and then online it won't screw with the game
But, still. If it's not giving you a popup with a link to a codefusion site, that's not denuvo stopping you from playing.
More likely steam its self needing to check in. Had you booted the game at all on the deck since installing it?

Every time they update the game: "Denuvo is cancerrrr!!!" Even though it plays fine
Many people have other issues with it that are also not performance related -- that is just the one aspect that people assume, and are often wrong as a result.
