I agree that the price is too steep for what they're offering though.
Okay, so let me ask you a question: why do video games exist? To have fun right? So if a product meant to be fun gives you zero fun, as was the case with Shadows of Rose, is it worth anything at all?
$20 is way too much for it. $10 is too much for it. $5 is too much for it, in my opinion. Time is money after all, and this was anything but time well spent.
I know some people did legitimately have fun with Shadows of Rose, and I would love to understand more about how/why. What exactly in the scenario gives you any enjoyment at all? There is nothing new to explore. There is no coherent plot. There is basically none of the survival horror game play that RE is known for. So why? Just because it’s something to do?
this is steam forums, not drama class
What’s the difference?
Actually my biggest problem was that it was very much NOT like Village. Village had a huge map with lots of exploration, enemies, resources, etc., Shadow of Rose did not have that at all. Shadow of Rose felt way too linear and had far too many sections which were either chases, hide-and-seek, or cutscenes. It was fine for the castle section (still pretty meh though) but after that it was incredibly weak and didn't allow even a tiny bit of the freedom that the base game did. The only highlight was the weeping angels doll scene, which was cool.
