This is not a resident evil game
I'm at the end of factory and I can tell that this is not resident evil..they just stamp the name to boost the sales

They need to go back to their root

Where is the zombie? Umbrella? RE is all about zombie outbreak caused by umbrella

This game need a new name

i love how for 7 they said: its to scary we need to tone it down a bit.
then 8 was toned down. and people are pissed. and i agree.
the people that test the game before it releases are giant wimps. have those testers played outlast? or alien isolation.
they even had this backlash over resi5 which was so shooter based. then 6 came out and people loved the co-op improvements. but where still made its not horror anymore.
and now with village being completely broken.... idiots.
we can only wait for hideo to bring out banger games. because all capcom wants is cash.

I agree this game is not a RE game.. like you said, it's just the name.
But zombies and umbrella is not what makes a RE game either. It's the design. Zombies and Umbrella is a thing of the past and it wouldn't make sense to do it again.

RE7 is an authentic RE game through and through. It's a shame that Capcom so quickly went back into the action focus.

the house sections are pretty close but I think they really dropped the ball on the mold things and bosses which make it feel off but yea the start of the game was like a breath of fresh air

zombies and umbrella still have a place and if anything they have steered it so far in a wrong direction that you would think they no longer fit

So in other words, you haven't played anything past the playstation games.

And are choosing to ignore the fact that non-zombie enemies have been a thing since the first game.

Umbrella and traditional zombies are no more, Umbrella is destroyed and no more T-virus. all other games after Re3 do not have traditional zombies. Even Re4 remake doesn't yet y'all praise the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. Re village is a great RE game. Cope harder.

that's the problem lol were gonna get re4 remake which is gonna lead to even worse resident evil games like it did last time ....re8 being the perfect example of how re4 ruins all other resident evil games

The factory is the 2nd best part of the game, its the only non-linear section aside from the castle. the doll house doesnt use the games core mechanics at all and is basically on rails and the fish village feels unfinished because of how short it is. The factory is at least a dungeon, the boss fight uses the tank which means it doesnt have anything to do with resource management unfortunately but overall the factory is a solid level and tests the player's aim and positioning in ways the rest of the game doesnt.

it never was horror. The series was never scary and any pretense of trying to be was dropped at the end of 1 which ended with a michael bay exploding house. From RE2 onward the series was about action and resource management. re3 and code veronica are so far away from horror its clear you just didnt play them to make a claim like this.

highly highly disagree lol the entire factory is just terrible in every way and is the farthest away from resident evil the series has ever been

You aren't the arbiter of what is and isn't a Resident Evil game.
