Solution to the crash on start-up
TLDR: i) Uninstall ASUS Armory Crate using the ArmoryCrateUninstall tool from Asus. ii) uninstall Realtek software from the PC, iii) check that the nahimicService no longer runs on the PC.

As many of us have endured, with the recent update the game will crash to desktop when started. Disabling the DLC didn't work, although dropping the dinput8.dll does work this seems to me to be a workaround. Unfortunately I've waited too long for Capcom to sort this so I went digging. I wondered if the security patches applied recently were making the game incompatible with other software on my computer. I started to close each program/service until I managed to get the game to work. The culprit was the nahimicService which are installed as part of the ArmoryCrate (Asus motherboard software). I managed to get the game to start by simply closing the nahimicservice services. To make this permanent, I downloaded and ran the ArmoryCrateUninstall tool from Asus and then uninstalled the Realtek drivers from my PC - this last step effectively uninstalls the nahimicservice from the PC. On booting up the PC, the nahimicservice is gone and the game now loads without crashing and without needing to use the dinput8.dll mod.

nahimicservice doesn't even exist in my Windows 10

That was my problem the nahimicservice, but it was not necessary to desisnstallo
Just look for the app in the Windows magnifying glass ( Service ) and there you hit Stop
and then in properties in ( start form ) you give ( disable ) and this
It will not start when you turn on the PC.

Awesome stuff! This worked (uninstalling). Been meaning to get rid of ASUS Armory Crate for a while, this was a good reason.

Nahimic is also part of MSI Software A-Volute. If you want to nuke it this reddit thread may help. Took the time to nuke every ASUS and MSI third party ♥♥♥♥ and now I can play again. Thanks OP!

ASUS does not work for me. I do not even hve it.

the only solution that is woking now is to use the "dinput8.dll"Data which you can find in the forum. But dear capcom team, It can not be the solution that your buyers solves the problem with a simple "dinput8.dll" Data. please patch the game. I dont want install any unofficial data in my game.

for me it was the video codec. it didn't like LAV. installed k-lite, and it works.
