I seem to remember Crapcom saying on announcement this dlc was free... yet here we are.... Ben curious to why they justified the change.

No it wasnt.... Mainly because anyone with a functioning brain would realise RE Verse ISN'T a Dlc. Its a standalone entry. The posts and there are still several active, State Winter's Expansion along with the Merc updates, 3rd person cam and all the other Dlc exclusives.

a "standalone entry" that you can't buy on its own and only comes with re:village for "free"

- Joe Baker " End of Zoe " example bring us new map swamp , new stuff weapon , different gameplay .

( meanwhile Shadow of Rose using same in game area and map caste , combat mechanic same with Ethan , nothing new stuff in it )


RE 7 Not a Hero which is Free DLC bring us new area to explore , new story , new gameplay as Chris Redfield more action than Ethan

( meanwhile RE Village don't have this new added quality / free content )

Third Person Mode ? only applied in gameplay & on cutscene there's still first person view . It's 50/50 many people like this and don't

Just saying tho for 20-30$ this DLC It's not worth it compare to RE 7 which cost less than 20$ at that time

Yes it was. ReVerse is downloadable content. DLC. It's free.

DLC's dont have their own monetization, nor battle passes.
RE:Verse is a separate game, and has been advertised as one.

This DLC is two parts, a free component that all owners of the game get as an update, and a paid component that includes the story expansion.
