RE 9 needs to go back to its roots again.
Capcom cant release bombs like Resident evil 3 remake when it was revealed that their own marketing team was against it, too short and cut content, Chris should be young and strong RE5 and RE6 style, this was nothing but an lame freakshow also fps or third person is still very polarizing.

It seems a lot more believable that a failed experiment to create a BOW from a virus could result in zombies, where as it is odd that repeated attempts at bringing a dead 10 year old back to life results in werewolves.

But I'm also glad they are branching out to new enemies, the series doesn't have to stay the same forever.

How is a virus that reanimates dead humans more believable than one that results in horrific mutations? Lycans don't actually look like wolves, people just think that because it fits the theme. The are just very hairy deformed humans with non-descript monstrous features. They could just as well be mutated from a silverback gorilla DNA as they are from wolf DNA.

In any case neither is believable in any shape or form and they are both ridiculous sci-fi nonsense.

Maybe it's more believable because we've been trained by the endless movies, video games, etc that viral outbreaks in fiction = transformation into zombies, when in reality that doesn't really make sense since viruses can't use the hosts' cells to replicate if the cells are dead. Parasites and fungi, however, make a bit more sense and are observed in the real world doing weird things to animals. I admit, werewolves and vampires feel goofy, but that's cause media usually portrays them as such in teen dramas and the like. But I'm over that, they do behave "zombie like" in game, they even eat people just the same as zombies, but they're smarter and look less discernibly human.

I thought running zombies as we saw in Dawn of the dead (2004) was scary, perhaps something for RE9 ?

They had those in REmake.

Those so called Crimson heads you mean? Yeah they were pretty hardcore, but as hardcore as in Dawn of the dead 2004, not by a long shot if Capcom could make running ferocious zombies like this, check em out man! Heres the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgjovIGCMPI

Running zombies wouldn't work for RE. You'd have to make a game like ORC to make it work somewhat. If you want running zombies play a game with running zombies like L4D or CoD. WWZ is also pretty good.

They worked for Resident Evil Remake, they would work again.

You messed the quote up. Either way, no. They wouldn't work. They worked for RE1, because they were a special enemy you could even entirely avoid too by burning bodies. If every zombie runs at you, then it would just be L4D. Even RE8 couldn't get running enemies right. In this game they'll almost come to a dead stop when in close proximity. You think zombies would be able to do that? Not that it makes sense for lycans, but it would make even less sense for zombies to suddenly halt.
And if there was a RE with running enemies, e.g. RE8 but enemies just barrel at you and body you then it would be unplayable/people would cry about it being too hard.

We need a Wesker hack 'n' slash spin-off. That's the only right move for Capcom right now.

I'm open to anything as long as it's fun to play. RE in a mall would be fun. But maybe too much like another Capcom game.

Lol. How many times RE has to "ruturn to it's roots" ??????

Tank controls suck. Tank controls will just force the developers to make the enemies "weaker".(Such as old RE games where zombies were pretty easy to handle)

OP never actually stated what he meant by "going back to its roots" and I'm not sure even he knows what he meant by this.

Tank controls are what made my older brother let me skip RE1 as a kid and go straight to 2... 2 was so much better control with the analog sticks.

I misspoke when I said third person view, I naturally meant over the shoulder look, fans are actually working on making Resident Evil an over the shoulder game as I write this, here take a look at the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOH_VbJm5sk&t=326s

That's awesome. I bet Capcom will pull a Rockstar on us though.
