What was Miranda's plan? (Spoilers)
I don't understand what was up with Miranda's plan here, like, she kidnaps the kid, turns the kid into Akira goop, put it in 4 bottles, give each to her children...so that Ethan goes around in his merry quest collecting the Akira goop and putting in the chalice, but...why couldn't she do that herself? Heisenberg says she's testing Ethan, but, testing for what if she was gonna kill him anyway?

I get Heisenberg being the one that be like ''no eff off Miranda this is mine'' and not being able to get the goop, but, she's in good terms with everyone else? Almost feels like it originally was supposed to be a lot of in-fighting over power dynamics (Heck maybe even an enemy type in-fight mechanic, that'd be neat) and Miranda was supposed to be all palpatine and weak manipulating Ethan into getting the goops.

I cannot understand why she didn't just, do the thing herself, also, how exactly does the evil moldy thing choose which baby it's gonna become? Tho I assume it's Biomagic choosing the last living person or whatever.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but, I don't think the script is tight even compared to OTHER RE games, like, RE1 was simple and to the point, the only shenanigan being added later with Wesker BANKING on being murdered by the Tyrant, wow good plan Wesker, no wonder Chris laughs at your Bs, but yeah, it feels super messy and glued with spit.

dude, the plot is mostly some anime nonesense.

she was going to do it herself. Chris shooting her and Ethan killing the four lords wasn't a part of her plan.

The story is full of holes ... don't even think about it. Nothing really makes sense.
I would not worry about it, the story was lame. Almost forgettable when the mold come into play.

She lost her child tried to kill herself found a way to bring back her child.

If I lost someone I loved dearly, and then suddenly had the power to get them back, even if I had to destroy a small community to do it, you bet I would. I wouldn't even think twice.

I wouldn't have ended up as keyboard warrior emo teen as Miranda though. She fell straight into movie villain tier weirdo.

For the ceremony I have no idea.
For Ethan test, before killing him she said that she already see his potential. So before it , she would have test him to see if he got affinity with the miasm and maybe become one of them.

dividing Rose was a test i believe to see how powerful she was and i think she needed to wait a little for the ceremony to take place

The RE story has not made sense in years. This is what happens when Capcom tries to complicate things with a convoluted storyline, that only confuses people. god, I cant wait until this ridiculous mold story line is over.

This is one of the reasons why the fans are often at each others throats, other than them not respecting each other and having a "deal with it" dismissive attitude.

This franchises fanbase is a mess, because the story and the plotline is a mess. There hasn't been anything consistent since we left Raccoon City, and you still have stuff like RE8 namedropping Spencer and using the Umbrella logo and all that does is add even more murk to the already inky water lol.

It's normal for everyone to have their own opinions on stuff, but this is something else entirely. It's chaos.

RE games are not known for their stories anyway
Well, they sort of are not, but as a fan, I tend to remember a lot about the storylines, except the new one, well, because it sucks. But at least with RE1-4 it was simple and straightforward in terms of what the villains wanted.

Yeah I kind of feel like Spencer's name drop was to please old school fans like myself to keep us still invested in this series after so many directions this series has taken, it is hard to keep track. Like you said, the first 3 are pretty self explanatory, as they are much simpler to follow and more consistent

I don't see that many people explaining why Miranda needed Ethan to put the goop there so i'm gonna assume videogames, but hey, the first game in the entire series is less contrived than this, just saying, as someone that played them all, yes, even the GB one, this needed a second draft of the script.

My biggest question is where do they go from here for the franchise? Rose is now like what? 18 at least at the ending cutscene. That would mean that Chris and most the RE 1 cast are well into their 60s. Chris is 44 in RE 7. Five years later RE 8 takes place and they have a kid. So he'd be 49 during this game. Now that Rose is grown up he'd be easily 60 years old now.

That would mean most of the OG casts are in their 60s or close to their 60s. So where do they even go from here?

the last scene might be just a closure, RE9 could starts with Chris and BSAA right after the end of RE village. or maybe we will play as Rose and the old Chris. like Joe baker in End of Zoe dlc who was very old but a badass.
Honestly I could see the DLC being focused on Chris's story wrap up. Or at least focus on what Chris was doing the entire game.

Still though, that means canonically, Chris and the original cast of characters are way past their 50's now. Which is kind of a bummer. So when they do decide to make another main line entry, it'll be continuing the 18+ year fast forward. Which I don't have too much interest in Rose Winters. Not as much as I do with Jill, Leon, Claire, or Sherry.

The 4 Lords were potential vessels for Eve but they all failed in some way ( based on the documents in Miranda's lab )

I guess she wanted to get rid of them anyway, and so she used Ethan to kill them and use that opportunity to see how strong he is. She wanted him to join her family, and since he refused to join her after all that, she decided to kill him. But failed, due to his power, and that's about it.

That's what I got from it at least.

There's a theory that Rose has the same " fast aging " problem as Eveline did, so she might be only a few years old.

They might go with that idea *shrug*
