Have tried a lot of fixes but HDR option still greyed out

I have an Acer Predator XB273K monitor and no matter what I do I can't turn on HDR in game. I have HDR in windows turned on, I'm not using dual monitors, and I'm using DP1.4. Any ideas on what I could do to fix this?

I can only turn it on in the menu, If i alt tab at all it turns off and is greyed out until i exit to menu again. very annoying. Hopefully this helps you.

HDR can only be changed from the options while you are at the main menu. Also do not alt tab out of the game because it will immediately turn off hdr until you reactivate it. So if you have background programs chiming you don't flip tabs to check them because you'll have to quit your current session and go back to the main menu to switch hdr back on. The only other possibility is the game doesn't recognize your monitor as HDR compatible.

Yeah I'm trying from the main menu but no luck. It won't let me turn it on at all, with no other programs running in the background, no alt tab. Guess it just doesn't like my monitor.

You have to unplug your second monitor.

Playing the game in Boarderless Windowed mode won't let me turn on HDR. I have to put the game in fullscreen, or the option remains grayed out.

You don't happen to have the game set to Borderless Windowed, do you?

No I made sure its full screen.

Hi i'm experiencing the same problem, i have a HDR screen, RTX 3090, playing in full screen mode, selected HDR on within Windows 10, but the HDR option in the game menu is greyed out. I can play HDR in all my other games apart from this one. I notice your post is from May, did you ever find a fix or is the game broken for certain hardware?

Same problem on my Lenovo Legion Pro 7 (laptop 4080 RTX). Only this game and RE2 remake have this problem - RE4 remake does not

try switching from full screen to another option, back into full screen and turn hdr on. if that doesn't work, do the same steps but turn hdr on without changing to full screen first

Turn off HDR in windows and turn on HDR in game

Turn off Windows Auto-HDR in all RE Remakes, except for RE 4. IMO the HDR in RE 4 was a step down from previous games, though.

I had the same issue and I was googling the issue with the game working slow. Turns out I was plugging the HDMI to Motherboard instead of GPU. An easy to fix mistake ^^
So I'd suggest you guys to check where you plugged your HDMI. My HDR problem was fixed with this solution.
