Village of Shadows Difficulty - TIPS?!
I decided to jump right into Village of Shadows after my first playthrough, and all I can say is....YIKES.

I cannot even defeat the first Lycan you are forced to fight. 30 Handgun bullets does nothing. I cannot survive the onslaught even with blocks. This is going to be a rough one.

Anyone got some tips?

New game plus on Village of Shadows seems pretty good, but... Considering unlocking this difficulty early was a part of the Deluxe Edition, I have no idea how I'd go about beating this mode on a fresh save -- not to mention on a first playthrough! Including it in the Deluxe version seems pretty reckless. Has anyone actually played and beaten it on a fresh save?

I mean, some people beat Madhouse in RE7 with fresh saves. Hell, some people speedrun it.

I'd say it's possible, but GOOD LUCK.

I'm sure it's possible, but Village of Shadows seems a lot harder than Madhouse.
Solution, Don't play Village of Shadow difficulty. lol. Jk, game is fun and challenging. I want to have fun and pew pew a while too.
Yeah I have one tip, S.T.A.K.E.
To make things easy, play your first playthrough on casual difficulty to know the layout and unlock OP guns with inf ammo. Then try again with Village of Shadows Difficulty.

My first blind run and current run is on Shadow difficulty too. I’m currently stuck at first daughter boss fight. Here is some tips if you want to get past the early part. Also note because I have never play on lower setting I don’t know what will be the differences with enemy layout.

First Lucan you can skip by going back in the house and grab the bolt cutter and he will run away. Learn this when I was looking for meds.
2nd Lycian is well.. your first enemy. Block and press space bar again to push enemy back to create space.

The survive the attack part I’m not sure if it’s a time base but lets just assume it is. Rush into the house with shotgun, barricade, loot and quick go down under the house and just sit next to wall that is facing the metal fence and wait there. Lycian shouldn’t be coming down if you manage to get down before the barricade is destroy and wait for a while. (Music will tense up and Ethan will say a few comments). Before going out through the left, just slash the flour bag to be safe because there is a mini boss near the exit. Don’t worry too much about loot because you can loot them later. Walk to the house up the hill with explosive barrel inside. You should have enough time to go inside the door and barricade. Stick to the left window and slash at the enemy trying to break through that window while keeping an eye on the door. If it breaks shoot the barrel and go up. Run around this area a few time going up ladder and jump down and there will be a cut scene where Lycian surprise you on the roof and push you down this part is done. Loot the place and move on. Also you don’t have to kill a single enemy to get past here.

The next part there will be Lycan inside the house on the left after you talk to the old lady. You can kill or ignore the house. You should have a decent amount of ammo left. You can shoot crow and it will drop at least 3k Lei. One crystal is on the eye of the statue and one is in the church. When you reach the grass field, you can sneak by and loot most of the loot on the map here or you can ignore it and comeback later. Don’t even bother trying to kill anything here, it’s a mini boss and it will sponge your bullet. Just run through to the shack where the injured father and daughter is hiding. Proceed through the story and you will unlock the door to the castle and meeting the duke.

I got around 10k here after selling my treasure. I would Recommend buying shotgun damage upgrade here and if you got spare money, get the recipe for shotgun ammo.
Note; This is my blind run and I got the inventory upgrade instead and regret it. Also I pre order the game so I got a few spare items and switch out the first pistol.

Proceed through the story and after you successfully escape and reach the castle just break all cabinet and vase because there is a chance that it will drop item.

Before you reach the prison part. You should be able to meet the duke once again. Get the shotgun damage upgrade again if you got a money. Inside the Prison just go in slowly and bait enemy 1 or 2 at a time. The reason For the shotgun upgrade here is that, it takes 5 of un-upgrade shotgun shot to kill one enemy and you will face tons. Try your best to juke around and use your pistol and knife if you manage to 1vs1 enemy save your mine and explosive. Then it should be first boss first after this which I am currently stuck on because she also spawn 2 mobs with here and will block the already cramp space.

I’m thinking of restarting and go with shotgun upgrade here because 5 shots is too much when you can do with 3-4 which helps a lot long term. But there is a tips here which I haven’t test it out but you can run past the boss , face back and shot the window to stun her and buy time for 2 monster to get in the room. Run around and hold block and use your explosive here, 2 explosive should be able to kill the 2 mobs and you can focus on the boss 1vs1.

That’s all for now. I don’t have time to play the game yet because work but I’m excited to try this challenge of blind run on this difficulty. It’s painful and you will suffer. Hope this helps.

Excuse me, but how and why did you do Village of Nightmares for your first blind run? You unlock it after beating the game for the first time
