video codec?

It asked me to download video codec and I can't find it and every time I try to play the game It just goes to a black screen and quits, Is there anyway this can be fixed?

I'm running into the same issue as well. I checked Windows Media Player and I have the WMVideo Decoder DMO installed, but now I just get a black screen and the game crashes.

I have the newest version of k-lite mega pack and i still got asked to install the codec when i played the demo so k-lite don't have the codec.

Just install the codec that pops up it's safe.

Try verifying the game or go to the install folder and see if it's in there.

you need to download the "Media Feature Pack" on microsoft website

When it asked me to install the codec I put my finger up and said Bye I don't care about this INTRUSIVE Limited manipulative demo enough to use a trashy codec i don't want in the first place. Tho it Helped me to make my mind up about not buying this game so nothing but thanks for that RES DEVS.

rofl, it is due to the optional media feature pack. It would be auto installed but since it is considered "as needed" it isn't automatically installed with windows.
