20 fps with 1060 3gb

3gb vram seems a little bit low for this game! Try playing in 720p with medium details, should be able to reach higher framerates!

Both of those cards are way weaker than a GTX 1060, even the 3GB version slaps them both, I have a PC with a 3GB 1060 and ran the RE Village demo at over 60 fps all of the time with all settings on medium/high; although not textures to max due to the vram limits.

What you are saying its nonsense, vram won't make a much weaker card get magic fps numbers over another card that has a stronger gpu chip, but less vram, that just allows the card with more vram to allocate more textures on the memory, which on paper would be less stutter, but if you don't overload the card with less vram, the overall fps will be much higher.

Set your graphic settings in the menu, watch for the vram limiter, then close the game and re-open it, fps should be fine again. This game has a bug with the graphic options, if you change them in-game, performance gets glitched, some people reported this issue. I am so sorry you had to deal with a queue of jesters who are ignorant AF and couldn't give you a single proper idea or solution.

For 1060 3GB, set textures to Medium, not a lot of science to it, that should be enough to get over 60 fps all of the time.

sorry but you need a non wooden pc to play, less than 3gb is wooden, 1060 is unfortunatelly wooden.

1080p, 144 Hz, 1660Ti, High settings here. Not even a single FPS drop. Game runs smooth and nice. You should get a better card, 1060 3GB is not that good.

2 of my friends got 1060 6 GB and they feel sometimes that card is getting too old.

That low VRAM is your killer. I'm working with an RTX 2080 SUPER, however, if I get close to my VRAM maximum, the game starts vomiting all over itself. I suspect you're feeling that same kind of vomiting, but all the time due to the low VRAM.

I mean, I wouldn't buy the game with that GPU. Maybe something less intensive. It sucks that GPUs are so expensive and hard to get right now. :(
