Difficulty Level 🤨

Which game difficulty level will you choose to play when RE8 goes live?
Assisted, Normal, Hardcore, or Village of Shadows difficulty?

Hardcore, i don't have the version that includes Village of Shadows right from the start.

Normal for the first couple of runs then I'll probably give Hardcore or Village of Shadows a try

Normal for my first playthrough. I’m going to take my time too, to try and clear every area of items, secrets and treasures. (Apparently, rooms are colour-coded again like in the RE2 and RE3 remakes to tell you if there are still things to discover.)

Since I'm a long time RE fan lately I play on highest difficulty, 1st run. Great challenge for series veterans !

The final Nemeis fight in R3make last year almost killed me IRL with rage

Not true. Madhouse in RE7 = Village of Shadows difficulty in RE8 that unlocks once beat the game just like Madhouse.. or as part as Deluxe edition for early unlock.

A game like this should not have a difficulty setting like traditional games but with modifiers for the people that love to replay.You should always go on the hardest difficulty if you are familiar with the type of game, and reduce it if you have trouble.Difficulty has a serious impact on the enjoyment.And only one of them can be the original design for the game.You can only have that first experience once. That said normal is probably easy for standard definition and Hardcore is Normal, Village of Shadows probably pushes it to the limit and requires previous knowledge.

Hardcore is going to be the RE "Default" difficulty. Reviewers are saying standard seems to be very easy, and easy/assisted is for people who just want to breeze through for the story.

Think back to RE2r, and RE3r, and hardcore was def the closest to older RE games.

I did madhouse res7 on release, so going straight to shadows first time on Res8, love limited saves and really picking my moments to fight and to run (running is gonna be 95% of the time XD) just more scary to have the fear of saves and encounters are way to deadly keeping me on my toes the whole run. then i can do my speed runs and challenges on a easy difficulty with extreme ez.

But RE 7 have 3 difficulty while RE 8 have 4 difficulty.
Standart in RE 7 =/= Hardcore in RE 8

As an old player, always the highest possible. After all, we live in soft times, in which hand is held at every turn.

In addition, all reviews, no matter if good or bad, tell you that you have a lot of ammunition and herbs and it's may better to use a higher difficulty. You can also confirm that in the demo.
