Why no VR version for PC?
After playing games like Half Life Alyx and seeing Resident Evil 7 on PSVR why not release Resident Evil Village for VR on PC. Even if the support is really bare bones, the whole combat system narrow environments and mechanics would make a perfect VR game. Also they put so much effort into the graphics of the game why not allow PC players to fully experience the teams hard work on better VR devices outside of PSVR? ugh

Well the rumour was Sony would give the ok to confirm VR in RE8, when they were ready. And that VR was in the game last year. But the silence on the matter is something to do with Sony I think.

I think they are waiting to announce it together with PSVR2.

well theres zero chance in hell that the psvr2 is dropping any time this year, let alone may. so if it is announced it will likely be as a "future update" thing. which i would hate cause i'd be tempted to hold off playing it

Who knows, maybe by the end of the year psvr2 will drop cause they are working on it. I think including that astrobot demo was also a teaser for astrobot 2 VR.

VR is literally a game changer, to put it tritely. However Sony seems to be taking a step back from selling VR units, and without the userbase on PS5 to justify the development costs, VR support doesn't seem like a financial gain. I'm not even holding out for PCVR support, because it's Sony, and they love exclusivity.

I think sony is heavily invested in VR, they are working on PSVR2 right now and they know its the future. The astrobot demo included in every ps5 is a strategy to get everyone interested in VR by using the astrobot character. I cant imagine RE8 not having VR support for PSVR.

after playing the demo a few times I'm convinced there will be vr at some point, it's exactly the same as re7 in terms of the menus, gameplay, everything really.
Sadly, it's highly doubtful. VR version of RE7 still remains a PSVR exclusive and if RE8 will be getting VR, I assume the same situation is gonna happen here. Sony probably paid Capcom for exclusivity, since PSVR is doing pretty pisspoor, so they gotta use any chance given to attract more people to VR gaming on their platform.

You are calling 5 million units sold pisspoor? Its just the beginning, wait until PSVR2 comes, it will sell A LOT more.

PSVR has very few good and interesting titles, let alone exclusives. So yes, in comparison to VR gaming on PC, it is pretty pisspoor.

Well it has 2 major exclusives being astrobot and re7, those 2 are 2 of the best gaming experiences ever and more will come with psvr2.

This game was made with VR in mind, you can tell by the movement of the main character and how he interacts with objects, He's stiff as a board, slow, and has very little mobility just like RE7. If there was no VR he would have far more mobility. There is no other reason the character moves like this unless it's to combat motion sickness in VR.

As for exclusivity. I think VR will come to PC. When RE7 came out, Sony were trying to sell PSVR, it was new. So they wanted a big game like RE7 to shift units, that's why they paid 5 million for exclusive VR. Now I don't think they care that much, PSVR2 is not coming this year plus Capcom would want more money now as there is a bigger PC VR userbase. It's a timed exclusive at best.

I dont know, sony knows that VR is the future and they know RE is a big title so by having 2 exclusive RE VR games it will attract alot of people to their VR headset.

Ethan's limited movements were more of a byproduct of implementing RE's mechanics into first person. His movements don't scream "VR is coming!" anyway.
