HDR no longer working RE8
HDR was working just fine with my Q900r/3090 at 8K60hz/4k120hz with RE8 but 1 day after the last GPU update HDR doesn't work with this game plus RE2 & RE3 all other games so far work fine with HDR anybody else having issues?

are you in exclusive fullscreen?
rob0976 May 22, 2021 @ 5:30pm
Fullscreen is on, HDR only works with fullscreen there is no exclusive fullscreen option just fullscreen.

fullscreen is exclusive fullscreen in this game, i meant exclusive as in non-borderless.

does it also not work if you enable hdr in windows?

Yes, it's weird it's just affecting RE-engine games nothing else. before the last nivida & re8 game update it was working on and off but after the latest nivida 466.47 update RE2,3,7&8 HDR option just stays grayed out. Maybe my tv just doesn't like RE games now lol.

RE7 is now working with HDR 4K120/8k60hz but RE2,3&8 still no HDR this is driving me up the wall lol.

Also been having HDR problems after Nvidia update.

Way too dark in the dark areas and even on main menu screen (with the scarecrow) the sky has nasty gamma issues. In Mercenaries the Duke's room is almost pure black.

I made sure Nvidia Control Panel didn't have any custom settings and erased the Shader Cache file to try and refresh it. Same problem still. Will update if I get proper HDR back.

I tried the other HDR RE games: 7, 2remake, 3remake, and REsistance. They all have the same darkness/gamma problems with HDR turned on.

Guess we're all waiting on another driver update.

Have you tried go back to previous drivers and see if the problem go away?
i'm with the same problem with hdr, i have installed the new nvidia driver to run days gone and the hdr washed out.

One guy named V3NoM in another discussion about bad HDR had a simple solution: turn off HDR in Win10's settings and only activate HDR on your monitor/tv and from in game menu options.

I swear in the past if I had HDR off in WIN10 the option would be greyed out in game, but it's not the case now. It works !!

Yes and it didn't fix the problem.

Update i plugged my PC back through my theater receiver instead of directly through my TV and the HDR was re-enabled go figure plus the color is better. I'm thinking the TV port 3(AVR) has better color timing and/or the receiver does not sure which one.

Issues fixed in driver 471.11.

[HDR]: Some specific HDMI displays might show some flickering in HDR mode. [200729987]

[NVIDIA Ampere GPU]: Colors may appear incorrect in games if sharpen Freestyle filter is used with HDR enabled. [200658208]

If using GE I would use DDU than re-install latest driver. See if that helps. No other open issues concerning HDR.

You also should make a post on the forums at NVIDIA if you have encountered an issue. You will get better responses with people who may also have HDR issues with this driver.

Here is link for DDU.
