How realistically can Castle Dimitrescu be heated?
Minor Spoilers!

You know her daughters dont like it cold right? Well I m wondering what the average temperature inside the castle is. Anyone who has lived in one for a couple days during winter, knows how hard it is to keep rooms and especially floors heated.

I have spent a few nights in a small Castle of an HRE Count in winter and it took 24h approx. to get the rooms heated enough that you didnt need to sleep with all your cloths on.

There are scenes with the daughters in basements and attics which shouldnt be that much colder than outside which makes them go HELL NOPE.

Not to mention they live there so I dont see any chance of them enjoying free movement during any of ther colder periods.

Anyone of you come up with something in the lore about this? I have been curious about this for a while now. Castle Dimitrescu is humongous, I bet keeping it heated requires a splatoon of servants with fireplace duty.

Now that you talk about it, I am curious to know about this as well :)

Between all the fireplaces and torches as light. It stays plenty warm especially since they are always burning.

Plus, it seems there is a lot of blood in the basement. If they do need to drink as much as they do, its probably still well above freezing keeping the chill out of the basement from a constant fresh supply.

You also have to take into consideration that fires seem to light out of nowhere. Like when you are at the alter when putting rose back together it lights a path for you. If fires can be lit like that. Than no servants would be needed. Regardless of who is actually starting the fires.

So keeping the castle above 50 degrees shouldnt be that difficult.

I have wondered this from the moment the game brought up they were sensitive to cold. There is no way logistically they'd have free run of the castle in a snowy winter. They'd most likely be fine in the obvious areas that have fireplaces and the like, but it'd be mostly a death trap in other portions of the property. I don't recall seeing any furnaces or such down in the dungeon area. I've seen normal unheated basements in regular homes where the water pipes freeze when it gets cold enough. The daughters shoud be dead in those areas. I find it hard to believe a small section of an already cracked wall was enough to keep their assured deaths at bay.

Consider that it wasn't long before Ethan arrived that they did have many servants, purging them slowly over time, then all the rest with the capture of Rose.

Still, a castle seems like a poor place to keep warm, I agree. The windows should be at least double-layered. That extra pocket of air between two panes of glass serves as a sort of insulation. Candles don't really generate much heat, and neither do torches. A torch can warm something the size of a large closet, but not a large interior.

There could be some furnace system that directs heat throughout the bricks, kind of like how Roman bath houses heated the water. Basically, think of a chimney, then apply that to an entire building: a hollow duct allowing hot air to flow within the walls, radiating heat evenly rather than just from one spot. It'd take more than one fireplace, of course, but that the castle does have.

Still doesn't explain how the daughters are in places that should be cold just by nearby areas exposed to it. I doubt the castle was built this way since it existed before the flies did.

Yea I was wondering where Europe is on the world map in the new WarioWare game when someone said it was flooded because of global warming and I then compared it to a map of the world with the ice caps molten but it didnt look anything like it but then I remembered its just a game and has not to be all that realistic

same goes for this why is the one daugher figthing you in a room with some open roof window thingy makes no sense but its just a game there doesnt need to be lore here its just not realistic, might be the underground mold generating excess heat into the castle for all we know

The game should at least make sense within the rules it created for itself. If it cant do that constently then I have a hard time taking the story telling serious. Why even bring anything up in a game world when everything contradicts itself every few minutes.

Anyway what @Lagtah said sounds plausible to me. Thinking about Heisenberg level its clear they in theory have the tech to outfit the Castle with some of Heisenbergs steam pipe heating or w/e.
Considering his powers he could easily outfit the entire castle on his own.

I heat my house with a fireplace only no problem, sure modern insulation helps, but the advantage of thick walls is that they lose heat very slowly.
If you got those female zombies to keep a fire going every couple of rooms i imagine it wouldnt be bad inside even in winter.

Realistically they would only keep couple of rooms warm, with the rest i guess being inaccessible at the moment for the daughters.

"How realistically can Castle Dimitrescu be heated?"

They need to remake the game. With small propane heaters everywhere.

lmao, imagine that being a thing in the future "THE HVAC SETUP IN THESE STRONGHOLDS IS UNREALISTIC, BILLION DOLLAR REMAKE REQUIRED!"
The Fat Man is Lady D's business partner and bookkeeper so The Castle is heated by his Charisma.
