tested....it works, also no more drops in bite scenes!
They do mention it, and even suggest the RE Framework mod because it prevents the animations from being stripped.
The RE Framework mod was updated a couple of days ago to implement some of what's in the Empress crack. The attack stutter and maiden swarm stutter is completely eliminated (I've been playing the game for the last two days using said mod).
The Github entry for the mod explains what it's doing: it essentially "jumps" Capcom's bespoke DRM checks. Kills the stutter dead.
I played through the campaign from beginning to end yesterday and didn't notice any of the prompts not working right. Which prompts are supposed to be broken?
Isn't directinput.dll very commonly used for modding? Something about it being very easy to modify and inject stuff into the game with.
great patch.....i wish, i could use this dinput8.dll in other games for some testing, but it´s RE limited.
My net is a bit wonky on my Series X and I swear I have the strangest issues as the game is first starting up- honestly would be curious whether this code is present on the console versions- I can be hammering the game for hours but the game is most likely to bork near the start, coincidentally as my connection is stabilizing.
This was fixed by Empress yesterday.
I wish that mod had been around when I first played through the game. I'm not going to test it myself, I'll just wait for Capcom's patch (unless that doesn't happen within the next weeks, then I will certainly give that mod a shot) - it's great to see it exists though for people who want to play at the moment.
Although I have to admit, I think the focus at least in this thread could be a bit more on Capcom's (not) handling of the situation since release, not so much whether a crack performs better than a mod.
