I know I need to upgrade, but can a Core i5 2500 run this game?
I've recently acquired an RTX 3060 Ti, but I was waiting for Alder Lake processors to come out before upgrading the rest of my PC. I definitely expect the CPU to bottleneck this game, but I have been able to run both RE7 and the RE2 Remake even with my older GPU (GTX 960).

So yeah, how much is the requirement of an i5 7500 really a requirement, or is it really more of a recommendation?

While i5-7500 is ~20%ish faster than your CPU and your memory is also DDR3 compared to DDR4 of the 7500 I suggest you try the game and see for yourself.

Don't forget that by all means and purposes, system requirements are guidelines and generally loosely defined, so you should always take them with a grain of salt.

IF you're patient enough to delay playing until you've upgraded, the lack of a bottleneck will mean playing the game maxed out, and it's a beautiful game.

I call bullsh*t. I had the same setup on kids PC and upgraded CPU/Mobo to Ryzen 5600x / B550 and the difference was day and night.

yes, you can likely play the game but your GPU will be severely bottle-necked.
