Trouble Playing Online Co-op
My friend and I spent almost an hour trying to get the Online Co-op. I'm really wanting to play this and House of Ashes with others.

We both own the game, but whenever we try to join each other it makes us download and open the friendpass which crashes the game.

Does anyone else have issues with opening the Co-op mode? Any advice?

well you guys already wasted your money, if your friend can still refund it tell him to do so.

you can play online coop with Steam remote play together, just start the game and invite your friend to remote play, he does not need the games or have them installed for this.

then start a local coop session and everything should work as intended, the remote play should allow both of you to control the game.

this also works with Lego and other couch coop games on Steam.

Unless they've changed it recently, this is false.

I've played the trilogy with friends using Steam Remote Play and I were the only one who needed the game and have it installed since they remotely connected to my PC and played with my keyboard and mouse.

It is effectively couch coop, but with some added lag which isn't too bad if all connections involved are good.

no this was never changed nor is it false, for remote play the person you invite does not need to own the game or have it installed, only the host needs to own the game and has it installed.

Your first statement is indeed false, you also contradict yourself with your second post.

In any case, only the host needs to own the game and have it installed, for anyone getting confused by this whole conversation.

I've literally quoted your posts where they don't align.

In your first post you state that people NEED to own the game and have it installed. In your second post you state that people do NOT NEED to own the game and have it installed.

Did YOU actually read your own posts correctly before posting them? If not, then I suggest you start doing that before posting online. If you did, then I don't know what to tell you other than that you need to take a class in English grammar. :steammocking:

We're done here, lol.
