Cant play multiplayer

I have tried inviting my gf when we both own and have the game installed. It runs the menu fine but when inviting it makes her install the friend pass which when she does so it "corrupts" her main game and only her friend pass will run. Same goes for me. When we have the friend pass version running it wont let us join each other at all.(Makes sense since its expired) But the main version wont let us play together and forces us to install the friend one.

well you guys already wasted your money, if your gf can still refund it tell her to do so.

you can play online coop with Steam remote play together, just start the game and invite your gf to remote play, she does need the games or have them installed for this.

then start a local coop session and everything should work as intended, the remote play should allow both of you to control the game.

this also works with Lego and other couch coop games on Steam.
