Insane load times
The recently released Doom Eternal loads levels faster. I haven't yet run a game with such slow loading on my current hardware.

I have the game installed on an m.2 SSD that is in raid0 configuration with another m.2 SSD. There literally isn't a faster storage solution. Please fix.
_____

I've come to discover that this is due to the game using 100% of my CPU. I have an i7-9700k, and no other software does this.

4 March 2021 Edit:

There was an update today that drastically improved, but has not fixed, this issue. Instead of 100% CPU utilization for several seconds, it's now only about 1 second or less. It still freezes a lot of processes on my PC, which no other games or software does, but it's at least short and manageable.

Yeah it's pretty bad, among other weird issues.

I also have pretty long loading times. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.

Yeah, the load times are pretty bad for a 2D game. I've also run into a bug where the tilesets flicker like a glitchy NES game. Something tells me this is a mediocre port.

4-5 seconds here max

Hmm I thought it was my crappy pc. But it sems to be happening everywhere. I hope they can fix it.

During those load times between areas, video playing on youtube or VLC on another monitor stutters. I play games that are more demanding on resources where that doesn't happen.

I noticed that the physical RGB effects on both my keyboard and cpu cooler both stutter as well.

It's completely maxing out my CPU when loading.

As someone who has played Sonic 2006, this games load screens are just babies. It's only about 6 or so seconds for me.

That isn't that bad really.

Playing on PS4 and can confirm that load times are between 13 to 15 seconds.

I don’t really understand why this is. It’s definitely not taxing the hardware. Would’ve been fine if it wasn’t so frequent.

Alright, thank you. I'll be waiting for a patch then. Hopefully they fix it soon.

It's not the load times that I'm concerned about. I'm concerned about the fact it's maxing out my CPU and causing my entire PC to stutter every time I go through a loading screen. Why is it using so much CPU power?
