P2W?
Is this game P2W, it appears to me that it is but I'm not sure.

How does it appear to be pay to win?
Cameron Feb 17, 2020 @ 11:20pm
can buy mounts and some other things that don't appear to be just cosmetic
It's more grinding etcetera.
It's also a f2p game which is in great development so buying ingame things also supports the development..
It helps though, but its not pay2win..

Why would anyone support a game that launches and immediately sneaks in P2W stuff while still a buggy mess. Like it doesn't really seem like a good idea. Should of done cosmetics, stupid decision making.

It's some guy sitting at home thinking all he has to do is make a barely functional game and he will get a constant stream of revenue. Idk maybe he will, I don't think so tho. This games dead on arrival.

There isn't any P2W things being sneaked into the store, that is a ridiculous claim, the cosmetic mounts that are different from the regular ones you can buy are simply either Black in color or White. Yes, higher level players will have a faster movement speed than you, but that does not make it pay to win.

The game is in Early Access, meaning if you'd like to participate in the game while it is still in development, you can, but of course there are going to be bugs that are unresolved, even games that are in full release sometimes have bugs that need to be fixed.

idk that much about the game, if there's PvP though it 100% makes a difference a faster mount speed and would be p2w in my opinion. I'm not really sure, but like I heard things like this game could be Metin 3, and if it's like Metin it's a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind which takes so long I would argue that the exp pots and stuff are even p2w.

The mounts from the store DO NOT make you faster. It's pure cosmetic. If you'd take a look at max level player's gear you'll see a lot of movement speed added there. Of course they would be faster than most of players under lv 50. Also, if they have their gear +9 for example, it's a huge boost on movement speed. Think for a second about how item scale up their stats as they go up in level. Plus, the enchantments that can be added on the items. If someone has movement speed on all possible items then it's certain he is faster. Hope that cleared up some misunderstandings regarding the store.

As for the exp potions, it's just a little something that is being added. Take for example Warframe(which I'm very familiarized with). At the beginning they offered Excalibur Prime(which is not available since they left a certain point of their progress) and now everyone refers to the players with Excalibur Prime as "founders" because they helped the game get to the point it is today. So having these micro transactions for a little bit of exp boost and cosmetics is not really a bad thing. Is just a small reward for people that WANT to support the game.

Thank for your post @InsaneManiac,

after reading I have realised this game is not P2W, I would maybe as a developer make the cash shop more obvious that it's cosmetic then.

Like all I see is + stats for a 7day mount and am like umm okay nope.

/Uninstall

I understand that's punishing, but I feel like the average person is gonna do the same thing as me, if I knew it was just a cosmetic mount I would of forgiven this obviously.

I am a VERY fair person,i have no problem supporting a game IF it looks like a serious effort and not a cash grab.
As someone else already mentioned there is an issue here with the 7 day limit.Ok if it is a 7 day limit because you don't want to give out p2w items full time then it is admittance of p2w.

I will spell out the difference and the WHY.A game dev should never incorporate ideas that separate players based on money spent. So is there a way to earn some money developing the game?Well by removing the 7 day limit,it opens it up for everyone,so a player can trial the game and decide if he/she wants to spend on a mount.

My perfect idea is that no player in the game can ever spend more in a month than would be typical of a FAIR subscription. Is this game worth $15 subscription,of course not,i doubt even the devs would claim as such.So a maximum of perhaps $7-8 spent a month at least until the game is in a AAA state? The reason i sound hypocritical is because i am being FAIR,it is common sense that ev1 cannot simply freeload on the game, correct?Well that is why i draw the line at a fair spending price. If you choose to still freeload then guess what ,you are not being fair.

This of course would require the TRUST of the devs to make sure a max spending rate is not surpassed.
