I miss the before and after pictures :(
Honestly, I can't believe they took this feature out, it was so satisfying! Does anyone know if there is an in-game camera that you can take pictures yourselves? Or, Devs, please put it back in? I've been using my phone camera!

I do hope that the Before-and-After feature is added at some point. I know in the original HF it was part of the HGTV DLC, but would enjoy seeing it again in HF2.

If I was especially proud of a flip, I'd stream the 'big reveal' to a few friends just to get their thoughts and opinions.

Only thing I'll suggest is maybe add a feature to control where the cameras spawn or even re-roll the camera positions. Sometimes the 'After' view would be blocked by a wall, tall furniture or a tree.

So what exactly is wrong with screenshots? You control the camera you control the where and when. Simply take shots before you do anything and then repeat the shots when you've finished work. What is it that stops players from doing this? Many of the jobs I've done are now available on Steam and should I wish to have a hard copy I have a screenshot piece of software to copy the Steam shots. In fact I've been using some as jigsaws. There's been no degradation and I can make them full screen if I wish. Is it too hard to push F12 twice?

You have little choice at the moment, there's little change of the feature being available in the near future., Perhaps never.

I'm super excited to get this feature back! Or maybe it should be a modified version where you get to pick the angle of the shot in each room, or just a "walk-through photo" mode where you physically walk around and take any (or none for people who don't care to) photos that would then be in your "after" photos.

This is one feature I really miss. It is nice to read the devs are on it.

That's the way, you don't like something for no reason and you totally ignore two people who took the time to tell you about a method which will do the job you so desperately want. It's extremely rude to ignore people trying to help you. So how about showing a little Netiquette (internet Manners)and at least thank the first person who tried to help you. It doesn't cost anything except just a little time.

Thank you stubaz and as well thank you Puzzler. Sorry if my earlier comment came off as rude or impolite. It wasn't my intention.

I think there is room for both methods. If the devs add the before-and-after and album feature, that's great for those who want to use it. If they feel it's not needed, that's fine as well, and players can use steam to manually record their screen shots. At the end of the day it's their game to do with as they please and I'm pretty cool with whatever they decide.

As for my preference, with HF1, I used both methods. I liked the animated effect of before-and-after when I finished a job and I enjoyed using the album to revisit it after the fact. And I also used F12 to capture and upload some of my homes as well. It's not a feature I have to have, but it's more of a 'that'd be neat'. Again, it's up to the devs.

Although, if the devs did add an in-game method, maybe they could add some filters to enhance the screenshots. I know in the game 'Euro Truck Simulator 2', they have a photo mode that allows you to adjust the time of day, the weather, the brightness, camera angle and RGB settings if you want to 'warm' or 'cool' the image. Their photo mode does the same as F12 but applies any of those filters to the image before uploading it to steam.

Thanks again

You still don't understand do you? BEFORE AND AFTER SHOTS AREN"T AVAILABLE and there's no indication that they ever will be. It's possible of course, but at the moment you'll have no chance of using the feature. The F12 method is there permanently and if you only want it because Before and After is automatic then I suggest you quit being lazy. You're acting like a spoiled child. I WANT, I WANT and I'll jump up and down until I get it. Just like we see in department stores every day.:steamhappy:

You use whichever system you like, we only mentioned it to help you, We don't get paid commission for getting you to use F12, but when it'a the only system in town it's as good as it gets. As for some truck driving game, why even mention it? It has no bearing on HF2. and neither does HF1 if it comes to that.

Good luck with your wait, who knows it could arrive next week. According to some it could already be written and arrive as a DLC, so more cost dammit.

@stubaz: What do you mean "no indication they ever will be"?? What about the second comment in this thread?

I have visited the Canny roadmap page. The number of things in the planned column is now so long you need to scroll down to see the older ones, but the before/after pictures are definitely still on it.

Just in case it was missed.

Be happy, seems it won't be a part of a paid DLC this time. Still won't use it though, so hope its possible to turn off. I never have the urge to look at a house I've flipped after I sold it.

If that works for you, that is fine. Personally I really miss the before and after photos so I can see how I could improve and what would look better for my next reno.
