An access violation (c0000005h) fix!!!

Hello guys,

this guide will help you to fix the access violation bug.

Before i gonna start i just want to say that my english might be bad. :D

Alright first of all i gonna explain why this error appears. There are some videos on YT already "How to fix" this bug but they might not work for the most. Access violation means that there is smth cpu sided which cant interact like it should be and this error appears because of a broken Windows. Yep you heard right, this error appears cuz your windows got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Its propably working totally normal for you.

So we need to repair our Windows but how can we do that?

Thats simple, you can download the latest windows iso file from the original microsoft website (please only use original iso files)

ATTENTION: Only use the same iso file as your current windows. Means if you have windows 10 Home (just for example) dont use the Windows 10 Pro Iso file. This will propably ♥♥♥♥ up everything.

After we downloaded our iso file we need to extract it by doing a "Right Click" on the iso and then "Extract here". If this option is not available you can use winrar. Its for free


Alright now its extracted and we can see some folders and a setup.exe file. Run it the next steps are easy to make BUT PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you dont, you might lose all your files. There is an really importent option in the install process. You dont need to delete all your files. You simply want to repair the windows without deleting your personal files.


Alright thats it now its reinstalling your windows without deleting your personal files. This might take a while.

as i said its not a game bug it is a windows problem cuz of updates. You do not risk anything if you reinstall your windows cuz you wont lose your files.

I solved my problem,
PROBLEM #1 Eror in Death Stranding Access Violation (C0000005h) was when i push "start game" in game menu.Please: update windows 10 at least to 1809 version,check last nvidia driver,and most important (that help me) : In Steam right click in list at Death Sranging > Proporties>Local files > Check game for integrity of game files.

In Windows near start button there is seach button > find exploit protection / You must add directory to ds.exe (Death Strandine exe file in Steam folder) or just look video (not my video,but its helps me) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDbBGzCbq4Q

I look like all my saves are attracted with this bug and couldn't find a way to re use it so i tried to play new game and it's worked fine WTF???

the problem solved for me when I change the game folder away from the C, I think maybe the game need a lot of room in the C drive to make the game run able

FIXED - for me at least

I found some files that needed to be re-downloaded when I scanned my install directory, but that didn't fix the problem (though, I recommend trying that). The solution for me was to uninstall ALL Visual C++ (redistributed) installs on my system. I was expecting Death Stranding to re-install the ones it needs on launch, but it doesn't do that, so I had to do that manually, via this Microsoft link:

Reinstalling windows seems like some overkill reaction
Usually updating your drivers and installing the various dev kits from:
\Steam\SteamApps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist
does the trick on any game.

All I did was disable DLSS until I got passed the bit that was crashing then turned it back on. Solved.
