I might've got frustraded or plain bored and left them as is wherever I happen to be at the time, there's a limit on how many orders you can have at once and you can't accept any new ones because of that, and if one of those orders is time sensive the game will make sure to remind it to you more often than one would like.
And why is it odd, now, if you take up on a job you should be free to bail on it just as well
