Entrusted lost cargo
I am a bit puzzled about how this works. When I decide to deliver a lost cargo and entrust someone else to take care of it, how does it actually works?

Quite often I instantly get a notification that a player is taking this cargo in charge. I was under the impression that they were going in the share locker. So how come that it is instantly taken? I don't picture people camping and waiting for things to be dropped to explain that a cargo is picked up as soon as it is entrusted... Does it create a mission?

If someone could enlight me :winter2019happybulb:

You get some irrelevant likes and no rep+. And you can't get to that cargo yourself ever again.

You can take others' cargo they entrusted and deliver those to a base it was ment for to get some small bridge "XP" and that's it.

Nothing creates a mission.

so what is the point to entrust ? are you sure you dont get reputation if the cargo arrive at destination ?

I haven't looked deeply into it but I believe it works thusly:

Entrusted cargo goes into the shared locker much in the same way kit you donate does. If someone like myself (lost cargo fiend (that's friends without the "r")) picks up your parcel and then delivers it you should get notified.

E.g. I collect Likes when I pickup lost cargo, then get likes for dropping it back. I also pick up lost cargo while in the wilds.

If you're asking me, then the answer is I see no point.

However, if you want to level up your bridge type fast (top part of the 5parts star) you should do some deliveries other players entrused to others and among them is you.
If your cargo is full, do ignore low gain ones though (40, 80, 120).

Ok thanks, and btw what are those lost cargo ? are they lost by players ? or is it just the game that randomly place them

There are both. Players' lost cargo is green, NPC lost cargo is white. If not ruined of course...

By delivering white cargo you get tons of reputation with a base if you bring it to it's noted destination. Which means you can 5 star a base without takong any orders if you find enough of white lost cargo that belongs to it.

Well I know what it does and it gives but I am still confused why some "Cargo has been entrusted to another player" instantly, the moment I deliver them. Why would some get picked up instantly? Again, what I want to understand is why is it happening in the instant for some of them?

There's a tip that explains what it does and honestly there's no reason not to entrust. You get full credit for a delivery.

Here's an example. You are making deliveries from A -> B then B -> C. Along A-B, you stumbled upon a lost cargo that is worth 900 likes. Except that it is going to D, that is not on your way and you won't make a detour for one cargo so you take it to B to deliver it there, it's still closer to its destination. Then anyone can pick it up and deliver it to D.

Here's what's great about it. Say you got rewarded 300 likes for dropping it at B and entrusting it to another player. If the cargo gets delivered to D, you will get the remaining likes to its full value along with anyone who participated in its delivery. That's why there's an history of who owned a cargo.

It took 3 players to deliver a lost cargo, all 3 will get 900 likes.

Am i the only one who actually take all your lost cargo's to where they should be?

I usually pick up lost cargo in world, or in the locker, if I have room in my truck. Bit of a neat freak so I don't like see huge lists of other peoples junk laying around.

I just noticed something. I immediately get likes for entrusting lost cargo.

Same immediate likes as delivering at the wrong destination. So... Delivering at the wrong destination is so much worse than entrusting cus you can't get additional likes? ♥♥♥♥ I've been doing that for my 24 hour play time.

It can be claimed by anyone who's playing at the same time. If they're looking at the shared locker they can grab it. Assuming you're talking about lost cargo. Lost items like gear or materials are "returned" to their owner (so they'll show up under "for Sam" section of the shared locker).

It's possible the game is making up some pickups notifications just to give you the impression the cargo has been passed on. "other porters" exist, you can encounter them in the Lake Knot area walking around.

At any given time right now the stats say there's 500 playing on Steam, who knows how many on PlayStation. It's unclear how cross-platform the data in the background is. So it's definitely possible someone saw it show up in their shared stash right away.

Except for packages destined for Elder. I swear those things pile up.
