Lost all equipment and materials from truck at the start of episode UNGER

After connecting South Knot City to the chiral network, Sam is ordered to "go outside" to check out the chiral spike, after which he's transported to the battlefield for the first time. Before i went outside to check out what's going on, i parked my truck on top of the elevator in South Knot Bridges center, as i usually do after finishing delivery. I went out, played through the event, and when i returned, all of my materials and equipment (pretty significant amounts, it was all the stuff i acquired on the way south) was gone, it disappeared from the truck. Only two items in the "Lost cargo" section remained in there. Pretty frustrating.

Why did you have a transient variable like a truck just sitting around the open game world, holding valuables, just before one of Kojima's expertly curated (but long) cutscenes and boss fights? There are private lockers all over.

Well thanks Cpt.Hindsight, but during a first playthrough, it isn't THAT obvious. At this point in game, you're basically just told to go outside and check out the storm/chiral spike, nothing more. It's the first instance when Sam gets unexpectedly teleported to who knows where. I had a delivery prepared in the garage, truck full of stuff parked on the elevator. Since you can run around and do whatever as long as you don't get further than 750meters away from the truck, i thought that by walking not even 100m, i'm gonna be safe. I thought that i'm just gonna run outside, click through some info from Deadman or whoknowswho, and then go back to my deliveries. I didn't lose my stuff during the first boss fight with Higgs. But as the situation couldn't be fixed and i didn't want to lose the stuff forever, i reloaded earlier save and started over. This time i stored the ♥♥♥♥. But it doesn't really matter anymore, it was a bug related to the HL bonus content truck. Nothing to see here, disperse peacefully please.

I just had the same thing happen, had well over a 1000lbs of metal disappear, plus tons of supplies. not in my private lockers anywhere near me

Playing on Epic Store version, so not just Steam (but still PC)
I found the same problem. Solution was to go back to before the cutscene, offload everything to private storage then fight the battle.

Losing materials was bad enough, but all those Custom Hema Grenades... :(

Same thing happened to me. Can't find my vehicle or the ♥♥♥♥ load of materials I had stored in that. It's so messed up all those materials are now lost
