I wrote to technical support, they promised to investigate it not long ago.
Thanks. It's a weird bug as it eventually just stopped displaying that TAA was enabled, but it definitely was. I followed the instructions here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Death_Stranding and it seems to have fixed it for now.
Sorry for the double post and quote, but how long did you wait for 505 to reply to you? I made an account on their website last week, but the 'ticket' page goes to a dead link and so I made a 'request', which I guess is their new method of bug reporting. Since then I've sent two more follow-up emails to their automated reply email (which states you can send additional emails with more information if needed). Tomorrow will be a week since I sent my bug report, and that's 5 working days without a reply, so I'm feeling kind of fed up at this point.
I'm pretty sure my issue is connected to whatever is also happening with TAA, so here's a link to my thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1190460/discussions/0/3105763714511803727/
These graphics issues are incredibly annoying as except for hacking the game and making assembly instructions ourselves (as people did to fix TAA), there's no amount of troubleshooting, reinstalling, or changing drivers that seems to resolve the bugs.
I'm well past getting a refund for the game, but currently I can't bring myself to play it when I have to open the graphics menu (which is multiple pages deep), to turn SSR on and off each time I visit an underground distro center and use the terminal.
I was answered the next day (7 jan). On January 9th I tried the suggested fixes that didn't help. On the 14th, I was offered other methods that also did not help, as I wrote to them. And 27 Jan technical support replied that they passed information about the error to the developers.
I also mentioned the problem with SSR.
Ok, thanks for the info. Hopefully the devs take it seriously and fix this issue as it really spoils the game if you need these settings off for a stable frame rate. It's weird that they haven't replied to me at all, but I'll wait and if they don't contact me by next week I'll send another report. I think the issue with these graphics bugs is that most people don't notice or just can't be bothered to report them, and that's why they've gone unpatched for so long.
